I like Seth Godin a whole lot. After all, he created Squidoo.com - which is basically Google-in-Reverse. With Squidoo, the idea is to start out with the idea - not simply look up links to a word on a search engine.

But, what happens when you need a specific answer to a specific question and you are in a hurry? Where do you go to get that answer? If you come to Ryze - as I have done numerous time - the feedback you get may really surprise you. It certainly has at times surprised me. Rather than simply provide an answer, folks have actually told me to do a Google search. Some folks have even been so bold as to tell me to do a Google search and report my findings back to them here on Ryze.

While I could indeed go to Google and do a search which could result in an untold number of links to check out, there is a better option. If you think a tweet to Twitter or a post to Facebook is the solution, you could be partially correct. But, neither service alone is adequate to do the job the way I want it done. What I want is to ask a question and get my answer within just FIVE MINUTES. Where can something as amazing as that happen? Believe it or not, it happens all the time on Aardvark.com. Check it out.

I think even that is too much work Lamar - there is something much simpler - sit back and relax - the answers will come - sooner than you think - the trend will be to do nothing - absolutely - positively nothing - watch and the answers will come to you - without having to sign up for this or that - enough of all of this signing up - it is time that we are done with all of this -

Walter,

If you can pick up a phone and call a friend to get an answer to a problem you have, why not do it as opposed to remaining burdened with the problem?

Now, why go to a committee meeting where the objective is to solve specific problems when you have no clue as to how to solve them and you know the others there are just as clueless as you? Don't you and the others coming to that meeting deserve something better than the spouting of useless rhetoric? My point is that people going to such meetings need to learn how to GTD(Get Things Done). They need to learn where to go to get help. There is a service called Aardvark. It is actually designed to help you get answers to important questions from real people in just five minutes. I am eager to see if the service can really deliver as promised. My local community needs all the help it can get.
