A New Ryzer Needs Your WelcomeViews: 182

Elaine Marie is the proprietor of the Spirit Lake Bed & Breakfast in Lower Lake, CA. She just joined Ryze. Looking at her Ryze page, I can see she has yet to join any networks. I want to encourage every member of this network to reach out to Elaine. She is new to the world of social media. She needs your friendship, your nurture and your willingness to share.

Her bed and breakfast is unique. Beautiful bed & breakfast house. Beautiful and quiet surroundings - including hills and a GREEN lake. If there ever was a place to escape the noise and hectic pace of the rat race, her place is it.

I am originally from Florida. That's a state that is BIG on highway billboards. Well, there are no billboards helping you to find Spirit Lake. If you don't know how to use a Google Map or unwilling to call the resort's phone number, you're not likely to find it. The place really is well-hidden...on purpose. And, the fact it is really not all that commercial actually enhances its value. Get to know, Elaine. Welcome her to the world of business networking. She is eager to learn how the win/win relationship of business networking works. In fact, if you happen to moderate a network, why not invite her to join? Here's the link to her personal Ryze page - spiritlakebnb.

Lamar, I, for one, think you are doing an awesome work in helping others to feel welcome. I visited Elaine Marie's page and her enthusiasm about her B&B was easy to see. I also took what you said, about Elaine Brown and John S. Veitch, to heart. I've enjoyed knowing Elaine Brown from ABHP and contacted John S. Veitch yesterday and joined one of his networks. Thanks for your posts on ABHP. Even the dialogue between you and S.W. is lively and enlightening. Tim

Tim,

Thanks for the kind words. They are very much appreciated. Business networking, as I see it, is not about pushing an agenda as it is sharing an agenda. Little things mean a lot. They really do. Just welcoming a newcomer can reap benefits - for both you and the newcomer. It should be win/win - not win/lose. It makes no sense to plant seeds one day and dig them up the next just to replant them the next day all over again. The process is a simple one. First, you plant. Next, you nurture (water the seeds). Eventually you harvest the fruit. Well, I think people are an individual's potential garden. How does your garden grow? Well, that depends upon how you nurture it. If you nurture it wrong or not at all, it is likely to die.

Hiya Lamar.

I welcomed your associate the other day when you suggested
it. No response, as yet.

I also welcomed a few new ryze members today. Two of those
folks sent PM's that were ADS, nothing more.

People who don't get social networking online and only want
to advertise simply don't get what it's all about. If you
are lucky enough to get them to listen for just a few
minutes, they sometimes do realize they are going no where
with their spammy ads. But that doesn't happen often.

Eileen :)

Eileen,

Elaine Marie just needs a little encouragement. I doubt she has ever been a member of a business network before. Just look at her Ryze page. There's not much to it. Why? She does not know how to do what most Ryzers might see as being the simplest things. But, I doubt she is alone in that regard. There are likely a lot of folks here who need a helping hand...but are too proud to ask for it. One has to wonder why someone would join a network and not be willing to ask for help to better use it - especially when there is a way to use it for free.

Hi Eileen and Lamar
I have a wonderful Article, 17 Tips to getting the best out of Ryze that was written by Heidi Richards . I am working on one to send to all new members when they join which gives them a nice welcome and instructions to get started. I would be more than happy to edit it for this network and we can do the same.

When Eileen was away, I welcomed new members and sent them suggestions to read the The ABHP Welcome Wagon! Howdy Neighbors and Country Folk! and then introduce themselves in the post for that and I did have Lindsay Douglas take advantage of this which was really nice to see.

Your thoughts?

Hi Sherry.

It would be great if you'd continue to welcome new members
to ABHP. I'm not sure when I'll be caught up from not
being able to get online for a week. I missed so much by
way of research for clients and cheking stats. The stat's
can be caught up easily but lost research time is a bit
harder to catch up on with the daily work load here.

Sherry, as a moderator here, you have a clear path to
welcome members at any time!

AND Thanks!

Eileen :D

"Elaine Marie just needs a little encouragement. "

Or perhaps;     Elaine Marie wishes to live her life and conduct her affairs to fit her requirements.

Just because we understand it's reach and are comfortable using technology. ... Doesn't necessarily mean that others must. ... We all have different criteria for our lives and some prefer to invest their life in other pursuits.

After identifying the need for a solution;   My style is to hit one the buttons on my Yahoo IM list and start asking questions. .... ( That's after I'm feeling the need to explore).

For me;   The tiny flame usually flickers to life from a conversation, seeing an ad, exploring some one's campaign or viewing a post.   However;   Until I have a need for change or the possibility of a major benefit is evident; ... I'll continue to pursue my current priorities.

Whatever product or service we supply. ... We're primarily;   In the information delivery business and must go fishing in a pond where the fishes are.

The fact that Radio/TV and Print readership is plummeting and over 50% of all homes in N. America have at least one computer. ... Said to me that I must learn how to harvest in this growing pond.

View the movie "Clearing the cobwebs about Social Media".  Click Here

"This Bud's for you"!    Doesn't resonate with me but having a million listeners to my radio broadcast does and already a Ryzer has emerged from the mists and offered all the Bandwidth I'll ever need.

When Canada's "Dr Tomorrow" (Frank Ogden) told me "If you aren't part of the Steam Roller;   You'll soon be part of the road" .... I listened. ..... but I'm an immigrant and we're often nosey monkeys.

Whether my delight is lunching at the Four Seasons or in the park watching a new mother with her baby. .... Success for me is;   Living as I choose.

When the student is ready ... The teacher appears.

Bestest.

Lot's of great points Teddy. You are right. We all conduct ur business at different levels and it is to be decided what level you are involved by the individual. I think offering the tools to succeed is great and what the way the individual uses the info is up to them.

By sending the tools they need and pointing out where they can get help means we did our job!

I doubt many Ryzers realize this or not, but Elaine Marie is currently in Hawaii at her Hawaiian Rental. Nevertheless, she is helping to spark some much-needed innovation in Lake County, CA.

First of all, she is one of the participants in that amazing Ryze To-Do-List Board promotion to Lake County. This would not have ever happened had it not been for Ryzer Sherry Simoes in Canada. She is the person who created the boards and really executed the magic here. But, at this point the football at Spirit Lake has been handed off to Elaine Marie's staff person. She si the one who will be handing out copies of that board to folks who come to her Bed & Breakfast. The board will be a nice momento from the quiet gateway from the rat race that Spirit Lake provides. (Rather than telling folks that being on a to-do-list board as an advertiser is a good idea, you simply give them a board to use on the refrigerator. Just let them figure it out.) Dentist Dr. Doug Reams will also being giving out boards to his patients in Lucerne, CA. Jack and Karen Lair will be giving out boards to customers coming into their convenience store located on the main drag through Hidden Valley Lake, CA.

Second of all, Elaine has help initiate what I call "mutual uplift" promotion in Lake County. She has collaborated in an advertising campaign with two other businesses - Ting's Thai Kitchen and the Hidden Valley Food Mart. This was made not only possible, but incredibly beautiful through the design expertise of another Ryzer, Eileen Brown.

I have said this many times before and I will continue to say it - CARING, CONNECTING and having a GOOD DESIGN - is what you need to get from a network like Ryze. If you are not getting any of that, maybe you simply have yet to make the right connections. Send me a private email. I may be able to help. This is not a sales pitch. This is simply what a "goto" person - a netweaver like me - believes. And, since I believe it, I both talk it and walk it.
