Dear Ryze family

A friend of mine has written this and she sincerely wishes to help the victims of the Philippines' floods, which I am sure you have heard about.

I sincerely believe in this cause so I have decided to tell you all about it. So for those of you who are Singaporeans or stationed in Singapore, please read on, and act on it if you are able to ...

"Dear friends,

I am writing to you to appeal for all forms of donations-in-kind, for the Flood victims in the Philippines. As parents ourselves, we know the pain and frustrations when our child is sick. What more if we were to lose one?

Our kids are very fortunate to have lived in Singapore. Let us enable them to have a very valuable lesson by learning how to share and teach them - for Children’s Day - the value of empathy.

I sincerely hope that you can come forward to donate old clothing (for young and old, kids or adult) blankets, toiletries, school bags, stationeries and whatever you think is valuable to the victims. If you want to bring something from the mint, this is most welcome.

All cash donations will be used to buy the food or for the freight cost to send all items to the Philippines' Red Cross. I will be using my place as the collection centre.

Please pass the word around and it will good that more people will be able to come by for this good cause.

The date and time for the collection will be from 11 am - 3pm, Saturday, October 3, 2009.

Address as follows :
Blk 21, Tampines St 34

The Eden Club House

Sinagpore 529232

My telephone no is 96206626. Thank you.

Warmest Regards Jacqueline"

The help for Philippines has NOT stop.

My church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are collecting used clothes, shoes, toys and canned food to filla 20-foot container and send it to the Philippines through the Philippines Embassy in Singapore.

If you have clothes in good condition that you no longer use - pants, dresses, skirts, tee-shirts, men's shirts, shoes - and if you have children's clothes, children shoes and even baby stuff, etc - we ask you to donate them to our project.

We will be happy to come to your home and collect the stuff you wish to donate. Members of the Church will sort out all donations and put them into boxes before loading them into the container. It would be helpful if you could do some preliminary sorting by putting the clothes for men, ladies and children, toys etc. in separate plastic bags so that it would help us in the final sorting.

If you like, you may also drop your donations at one of our chapels. The address is 253 Bukit Timah Road, S(259690). Near Newton Circus, after Sakies Road.

We thank you very much for your support in this!
