Suggestions? | # | Walt Williams | | I don't presently represent any company that features a weight loss product. Here's what I'm thinking. My significant other and I are soon to embark on a diet of some kind, yet to be chosen.
We'd like to document our progess along the way, then capitalize on the results economically somehow. I know celebrities do this all the time for one company or another, but common people are sometimes paid too when their weight loss is significant. We'd like to know how?
Ever seen those before and after photos of people who have lost a lot of weight? Well, aside from taking those photographs before the start, we thought we might visit a notory public with a scale and pay that person to "notorize" our actual weight on start day. Then, of course, re-visit the notory several months down the road to document our actual weight loss.
We are looking for ideas to acually profit from this episode of weight loss. It would give us additional motivation (plus maybe some cash), aside from the health benefits only.
Help us brainstorm this, please.

1) "Scientific" documentable evidence that you have indeed lost weight. There may be a couple of layers to this as well. The average person also trying to lose weight may be happy with pictures and numbers. Speaking as a doctor, there may be others who would like some technical data as well - calorie counts, diet, mental approach, exercise regimens, etc.
I think the evidence could be done by a notary, for sure, and/or your personal physician. Suggestion re the pictures - make them real and consistent! No photoshop moments, no dark then light backgrounds. Same place, same lighting all the time. And show your face so you are real and not a model.
2) Marketing. Getting the word out that you are doing something and that you are successful at it. TELL YOU STORY! Like any other marketing endeavor, have a plan and a budget. Get help from marketers. Use a product or system that is successful, not just a hyped up internet buy-in. You can also do it without a product and that may actually be more compelling.
Besides your story, your technique can also be monetized. Your story is a free give away ebook, maybe a weekly installment to keep up interest. The diet, the exercise regimen, any equipment you use, any recipes you find useful, any supplements you use, all are for sale products. (I have some ideas about these, too, as you no doubt do as well.)
Would recommend the folks at a marketing group I have joined because they are really helpful: http://tinyurl.com/ydj897r. Join for free, get to know them/us, ask questions and let them/us help.
Trust this gives some fuel for the brain cooker!
Blessings,
