Lamar Morgan 707-709-8605 | | Clusters: Small Business Group Netweaving now has a new look. Many may not know, but this network was at one time, B2B Networking - one of the most popular networks on Ryze. It was moderated by Althea Garner. When Althea left Ryze, she gifted the network to my town, Middletown, CA to help boost of the business networking ability of the community. Hence, the network was renamed, "Project-Middletown." For some strange reason, most of the folks in the community paid little or no attention to the network. Most of the folks joining Project-Middletown were not even residents of California. So, it seemed appropriate to give the network a very different name. At the time, I just happened to be reading a book called, "The Heart and Art of Netweaving," by Robert Littell. The book discusses how Xerox and other big companies are implementing the "ethics of reciprocity" (Golden Rule) to enhance productivity. The strategy, called "netweaving," is said to be good for individuals as well as big businesses. So, I decided to name a network after this idea.
This netweaving idea is currently being implemented in a very exciting way. A group of Ryzers have recently collaborated on a to-do-list board. The idea is not simply to advertise businesses on a board that fits on a refrigerator and is beneficial to the consumer. The idea is to demonstrate how groups of people can work together to promote one another. Promotion does not have to be intrusive and "in-your-face" SPAM. It can actually be "mutually beneficial."
My hope is that this to-do-list effort sparks more creative and mutually beneficial undertakings here on Ryze.
