Gyanesh Khanolkar | | Hello,
I currently live in a gated community and we are seeking RF-ID based security solution.
We would like to distribute RF-IDs or Proximity cards to our members so that when the car approaches the gate, this card is recognized and the car number / owners name can be flashed on a screen in the security box for him to open the gate automatically.
Are you aware of any vendors who have such a solution already in place? Any pointers / leads would be of great help.

This is a simple application. However just one clarification. You say "when car approaches the gate". If you mean that the case is detected say from a few meters away, that is one type of technology. Of you mean the driver drives up to the gate and flashes the card at a reader located on the curb, that is another type of technology. The former is more expensive and the later is relatively simple. Depends what you want and need. Also, of course you have to consider the software that will manage it all.
