Sherry Simoes | | I would love to see us start a marketing exchange program on a deeper level. We do already but let's get serious about this! We have spent time connecting and am enjoying each others resources so let's share the wonderful things we all have to offer!
Re-Tweet each others Tweets! - Teddy has a script to help us with this. Teddy can you tell us where we can get this?
Advertise in publications together- Lamar can help with this.
Post each others Blog Posts on our Blogs.
Join each others affiliate programs if we have them.
Promote each others newsletters and programs and resources.
Let's all list each way we can help each other in this post and report when we do this!
I absolutely love working together - whether it is an exchange with no $ involved or with a reward of $ - both ways
One word of caution...just because you promote one persons program may not mean they will promote yours - but I can bet someone else will. Choose the ones that make sense for you to market!
Let's get started!
Here's where I can use help:

Eileen Brown | | HI Sherry.
We've been doing just that very thing and so far, it's worked out well, wouldn't you say? Actually, it's worked out great but I won't go into details on that. LOL
Collaborations between parties who live so far apart seem to work out just as well as those who can come face to face and sometimes better. You and I are living proof of that.
Blessings.

Write up something on Women Of Today and PM it to me. I'll put it up on Small Business Rescources Cafe .... Tweet the specific article post ... and share the post on LinkedIn.
That should get you quite a bit of traffic.
I've done this for other Ryzers and it seems to work out well.

Lamar Morgan 707-709-8605 | | Wow! I did not even know this thread was here. I just sent a "thank you" note to Michael Lemm for posting to his blog an article about PR optimization which he actually asked me to write. Now, look what Sherry Simoes has started. This is the woman who designed that to-do-list board that I will be stuffing into goodie bags this week for the Coyote Valley Community Plaza Thursday Markets this month. It looks to me like there is a lot of interest here in mutually collaborating. This is WONDERFUL - just in time for the holidays, too.

Teddy Towncrier | | Introducing the SuperTweet.
All ReTweets are appreciated but there's a couple of little tweaks you can make to make them more effective than others.
Twitter readership is higher at some times of day than others and a post appearing at high readership times is likely to be more effective than one arriving in the middle of the night and buried among thousands of others.
My research indicates that 10AM and 2PM. (Mon-Fri) .... are the sweet spots for readership, in most markets.
Use SocialOomph.com to time your posts for maximum readership.
In Retweet requests; I'll frequently ask for a specific time and suggest using SocialOomph.com. ... Give a bit more and we frequently receive much more. Example
Fully Empower your readers to ReTweet by making it as easy as possible. Embed your desired copy in a "Tweet This Button

 Lamar Morgan 707-709-8605 | | Teddy,
Thanks for the suggestion for using TweetLater and the post times for best exposure. If a group of folks agree to retweet each other's messages that can really have a powerful impact. If you are using TweetDeck, you can even set up a column for folks who are willing to be retweeters. In that way, each willing retweeter can conveniently be sent a DM (direct message) for the retweet request.
Now, there is a free service that actually works with Twitter called Aardvark. The purpose of Aardvark is to provide the public with answers to questions real quickly - not from a database, but from real people. Therefore, every question can be followed up. But, here's what's attractive. This process is is not only executed fast - usually within five minutes - but it is done without sharing personal email addresses.
Let's say you have a need to know about mutual advisory council rules for your town hall. You can go to Google and look up the folks who have that expertise and invite them to not only join Aardvark, but to join under a special Group that you set up for them. Therefore, whenever you need help from that group, you simply text Aardvark - confident that someone from that group will likely provide you with an answer...within five minutes. With Aardvark you can actually "seed the sytem" to benefit your needs. Of course, on the flip side, you make yourself available through Aardvark to meet the needs of others when that needs arises regarding three areas wherein you have expertise. Therefore, joining Aardvark really is a win/win scenario.

Rick Falls | | Hi Sherry,
I think a good way to promote each other would be to interview each other and then let each of us spell out what exactly we do.
It seems to me that a lot of people are looking for more business but it's difficult for them to be clear on what they do and who they do it best for.
Maybe that could be a theme for this cross promotion effort?
Who is your best customer and why did they choose you?
It could begin with an elevator speech, go on to how each of our business processes work, and conclude with a satisfied client profile and example of satisfaction.
Just thinking out loud.

Bobbi Jo Woods | | Haven't tried Tweetlater yet.
I do notice other Twitter users (whom I follow) posting Tweets I've seen before - and they are repetitive. Are they using some service to do that? It irks me a bit when I see these repeat-Tweets (note: I'm not talking about re-Tweets) from the same folks, and so I take note and decide not to do that myself. I have an extensive and near-photographic memory though, so perhaps that's just me.
I will have to check out this scheduling service (not TweetLater, the other one), and see if it's worth my while.
BTW - for those concerned, DMs (direct messages) are typically NOT appreciated by Twitter users...at least that's been my experience.
The only time I use DM on Twitter is when I post something that requires a private contact method, like when I post a job opening, I might ask in my Tweet that whoever is interested DM me, so they can send me their e-mail address, or mailing address (or some other private info). If it's not private, I say, just Tweet it! That's my rule.

 Kurt Schweitzer | | BJ,
One problem with Twitter is that tweets roll off pretty quickly. The more people you follow, the faster they roll off. This means that if you really want people to see your message you will need to repeat it several times, preferably at different times of day.
Not everybody lives on Twitter. For example I only drop by every day or two. If you want me to see your message you'll need to repeat it several times over the course of several days.

Bobbi Jo Woods | | Hi Kurt
Thanks for the clarification on that, I understand the point.
The only thing that worries me though, is that when someone goes to my Twitter.com profile, all they see is a bunch of repeated Tweets, which can be a trigger for suspension if more than one person flags me and it goes to the Twitter TOS team.
PS - I don't live on Twitter either. I just happen to have a very precise visual mind and remember pretty much everything. So if I've seen something a number of times, it's not because I'm on Twitter 24/7, it's just because I'm strangely-gifted with this darn memory! Private Reply to Bobbi Jo Woods |

Lamar Morgan 707-709-8605 | | Bobbi and Kurt,
Yes, you can use Socialoomph(formerly TweetLater) to send out delayed Tweets several times a day by just programming the software the night before or early in the morning. But, if you choose to go that route, don't set yourself up for a suspension by sending out the same message each time as that is considered SPAM. Instead, make sure each message you send has a different focus - even if it pertains to the same subject matter.
Keep in mind that what makes Twitter such a remarkable service is not limited to what you do in regard to your messages, but also what others connected to you do with your messages. Retweeting is a tremendously powerful tool. If you have friends within your circle of influence on Twitter, by all means, encourage them to "retweet" your messages. That means they forward your message to their own audience.
I also recommend if you have a Twitter acount you start using TweetDeck. Here is a way to manage all your Tweets and those of your audience without having to go online. Believe me, it really is nice to be able to organize your Tweeting.

Please, call me Bobbi Jo... my middle name isn't "Jo".
As for Tweetdeck, I cannot use it on my main workstation computer, until I replace it with a faster machine. The processor speed on mine isn't up to par with Tweetdeck's requirements (minimum 1GHZ processor speed). The speed on my processor's chipset is slightly under that.
I will check out SocialOomph (Tweetlater) again, since I didn't realize they were one and the same. Obviously, they have changed the name, and probably some other things. Tweetlater was getting a reputation as bad--amongst some Twitter users I was following--due to the auto-DM feature and maybe one other feature (I forget which). Private Reply to Bobbi Jo Woods |

Bobbi Jo Woods | | PS - I CAN use Tweetdeck on my mini-netbook...which has sufficient processor speed. But that's dumb for me, since I only use that computer when I'm out and about--and rarely, if ever--ever do I Tweet from it. I'm usually only using it to check e-mail, show work to clients and/or use it during meetings, and maybe to play a game or two to kill time when away from my office (while waiting for a bus, etc.) Private Reply to Bobbi Jo Woods |

 Lamar Morgan 707-709-8605 | | Bobbi Jo,
TweetDeck is so cool. There is just so much you can do with it regarding the sending and tracking of your tweets and special groups that may interest you. I encourage you to use Aardvark with TweetDeck to generate "buzz" for projects you are doing. If you want folks brought into your "circle of influence," sending out an @vark tweet with a hashtag following your question is definitely one way to do it.
I have set up a thread over on my Clusters network requesting folks post a tweet for other folks here on Ryze to retweet on Twitter. I just came from a convenience store where I posted a cardboard poster asking the public "to follow the Hidden Valley Food Mart on Twitter." I included the convenience store's Twitter address in big red letters - http://twitter.com/HVFoodMart. The convenience store actually told me that people started following the store on Twitter as soon as it demonstrated FREE Wi-Fi was indeed available there.
This tells me that folks do indeed want to connect with one another. And, they often welcome folks like the Hidden Valley Food Mart who provide them not only with a place to do the connecting, but are more than willing to show them how.
I invite everyone reading this thread to follow the Hidden Valley Food Mart. Connect with them. Send a direct message and surprise the socks off of the couple that owns the store - Jack and Karen Lair. I doubt they expect anyone but local folks to reach out to them. How wowed this couple would be to receive a tweet from outside the State of California. In fact, why not introduce them to Ryze.com?

Bobbi Jo Woods | | OK I just tried out Twithive and so far it seems nice, but I cannot figure out how to add users to a channel when they do not show up in my "add users" search (probably because they haven't had any recent Tweets). I would like to be able to do a search and click "Add" next to their name, but it doesn't seem to work that way. I can choose to follow/unfollow them, view recent tweets from them or close the window. Private Reply to Bobbi Jo Woods |

Bobbi Jo Woods | | OK long story short, Twithive is meant to be a sort of Twitgrid or Twitchat alternative, both of which simply keep track of tweets about search terms or trending Twitter topics. It's not really an alternative to Tweetdeck at all. In fact, it's not useful to me.
I found Seesmic desktop to be a very close challenger to Tweetdeck, with a couple of exceptions...in that, I cannot seem to be able to do certain things like view a profile within the software interface. And it's a bit clunky, but then again, my pc is a kinda old and slow.
But so far, so good! Private Reply to Bobbi Jo Woods |

Lamar Morgan 707-709-8605 | | We learn by doing, right? I am doing a workshop in Hidden Valley Lake, CA on Sunday, Nov. 8th. I could use some uplifting support from my Ryze Family to help make this event a success. You don't have to buy anything. All you need to do is freely subscribe to a newspaper and post a comment. Easy. Just click the following link and post some encouraging feedback to the article listed once you subscribe to the paper. Here's the link - Lake County News.
Now, I am not simply here to ask you to do things for me. I am willing to go to bat for you. For example, if you have a Twitter account and would like for me to retweet a DM from you to my audience, just send it to me as a Ryze private message. I will go to bat for you. I just need to be able to incorporate what YOU NEED into a venue that I have.
Are you interested in a "win/win" scenario? If so, the solution is rather simple. Show you CARE, CONNECT and have a GOOD DESIGN. In the words of Nike, "Just DO IT!"
