சிறு வயதில் நமது தாயும் தந்தையும் நம்மை அவர்கள் காலத்து நியதிப்படி நடந்து கொள்ளுமாறு கட்டாயப் படுத்துகிறார்கள். நம்மைப் பொருத்தவரையில் அது நமக்கு சரியாகத் தென்படாவிட்டாலும், எது சரி? எது தவறு? என்று சிந்தித்து முடிவு செய்யுஅ வருடங்கள்ம் திறன் வந்துவிட்டதாக நினைக்கிறோமே தவிர பல வருடங்கள் சென்று அதன்
பிறகு இதே முடிவுக்கு வர்வோமா ? என்று சொல்ல முடியாது. இந்தக் கருத்துபற்றி ஆண்கள் பெண்கள் ஆகிய இரு சாராரும் ஒரே மாதிரி சிந்திப்போமா? என்று சொல்ல முடியாது.
ஆணுக்கு ஒரு நீதி பெண்ணுக்கு ஒரு நீதி என்பது தொன்று தொட்டு வந்த மனித கலாசாரம். பெண்களுக்கு "கற்பு" என்று ஒரு தனிமகத்துவம், நம் பொதுச் சிந்தனையில் உற்பத்திசெய்து கொடுத்திருக்கிறோம். விவாகரத்து, இரண்டாவது மூன்றாவது கணவன் என்பதை சட்டபூர்வமாக ஒப்புக்கொண்டபிறகு இந்த `கற்பு' என்ற சிந்தனை நிலைக்குமா? இன்றைய ஆராய்ச்சியில் ஒரு பெண் ஒரு ஆணுக்குமேல் உடலுறவு கொள்ளக்கூடாதா? அல்லது அப்படி வைத்துகொண்டால் வெளியே தெரியக்கூடாதா? பல உயர்சாதிப் பெரியோர் உலகறிய இரண்டுக்கும் அதற்கு மேலும் பெண்களுடன் பாலுறவு கொண்டு அதை ஒப்புக் கொள்ளவும் செய்கிறார்கள். நம் ஹிந்து கடவுள்களிடையே எனக்குத் தெரிந்தவரையில் இராமாயணத்தின் நாயகனான இரமனைத் தவிர எல்லாக் கடவுள்களும் ஒன்றுக்கு மேல்பட்ட மனைவிகளுடன் வாழ்ந்ததாகக் கேள்விப் பட்டிருக்கிறேன். இராமனின் தந்தை தசரதன் இதிகாசத்தில் பெயரளித்து அனுமதிக்கப் பட்ட நான்கு மனைவிகள் தவிர பரசுராமன் என்ற கோடாலிக் கடவுளுக்கு பயந்து தினம் ஒரு மனைவி வீதம் அறுபதினாயிரம் மனைவிகளை மணந்து கொண்டதாக இதிகாசங்கள் கூறுகின்றன. பரசுராமன் ஒன்று அல்லது அதற்கு மேல்பட்ட அரசர்களை தன் கோடலிக்கு காவு கொடுக்கும் ஒரு விரதம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டதாக கதைகள் சொல்லப் பட்டிருக்கின்றன. 60 ஆயிரம் நாட்கள் வாழ்ந்து புத்திர சோகத்தால் மாண்ட தசரதர் பரசுராமன் கோடாலியினின்றும் தப்ப, தினம் ஒரு திருமணம் செய்தாராம்.
இன்றும் நாம் சென்னைக் கடற்கரையில் கண்ணகியின் சிலை வைத்து வணங்குகிறோம். மாதவியையும் அவளுடன் கூடித் தவறு செய்த கோவலனையும் மன்னித்து ஒரு கோவலனின் திருடாத்தனத்தை (திருட்டுத்தனத்தின்...நான் கண்டுபிடித்த எதிர்ப்பதம்) நிரூபிக்க மதுரையையும் மதுரையின் மக்களையும் எரித்தது அன்றைய நியாயம் எனலாம். ஒரு நடனக்காரியாகச் சித்தரிக்கப்பட்ட மாதவியின் மகளை மணிமேகலை என்ற காவியத் தலைவியாக்கியது வேசியின் மகளும் இலக்கியம் படைக்கமுடியும் என்று உலகுக்கு ஒரு புதிய நியதி படைப்பதற்காக இருக்கலாம். i rest in waiting (and in anticipation) because i credit you with the intellectual chutzpah to refrain from alteration of the content with intent to defraud . . . . . . very regional ideas that may also be a little anti cultural do have a place in human intercourse as do paintings, sculpture and architecture as long as they are not laced with venom intended to incite mob behavior leading to a disturbance of the general public peace endangering the lives and properties of denizens of the place . . . . . and i do admire and appreciate your honesty in calling a spade a spade as compared to others who may call a spade by names not resembling names of any spadelike implement . . . . .

The moral values preached is one thing and the self discipline one needs comes more with our own behavioural changes.
I find in the end one is compelled to seek approval for their behaviour and action.
This approval seeking syndrome is present in every sphere of life including your own career performence.
How good is your boss to give approval to your performence and conversely does the boss get approval from his subordinates for his good or mediocre or poor show.
Similarly in reality people who preach chastity and /or many other values make it a fetishism.
In reality you need to come to terms with things as they are and painting it different colours is individuals trait.

sujatha suresh | | PR, about Boss approving junior is one thing yesterday newspapers gave the info that Staff and peers should give grades for every student of 10th std for the individuals' grade and overall performance.
So looks like there shall be more confusion coming up though the intention to kick start such a grading system has its + points... - points may take the better place as time passes is what I see....
