Fitness tip of the week (or month - LOL)Views: 97

Sorry I haven't posted any fitness tips lately. I honestly forgot that I signed up to do that. I will try to post one a week, for sure.

Here is the fitness tip of the week: Eat your way to fitness; don’t starve yourself lean. Food is our body’s fuel. It gives us energy and revs our metabolism so we can burn calories. Just as our car will not run on empty, so our bodies will not run if we have no food in them. It’s important that you feast on a healthy breakfast, have a high-protein lunch, and a light dinner. Eat every 2-3 hours to keep your metabolism high, but make sure your snacks are healthy. Our bodies need food to build muscle, which will in turn burn fat. If you starve yourself, your body will go into starvation mode and will hold on to the fat you want to lose in the first place. Starving yourself to get thin has the opposite effect. Eat your way to fitness, and make sure you eat healthy foods like almonds, dark green and bright colored veggies, fruits, berries and legumes, and cut down on sugary foods and drinks and stuff made with white flour, which are devoid of nutrients. Eat your way to fitness; don’t starve yourself lean.

Thanks, Tim! I'm glad my posts are a good reminder to you of what to do to be fit and healthy.

Susan, I am glad you set up the glider so you can keep fit during the next nine cold months. I hope it won't collect dust, as so many machines do after a few weeks or a month ;) Stay focused and keep exercising! Schedule a time to do it, and keep to it.

Stay fit and healthy!

Ref: Stay focused and keep exercising!
Schedule a time to do it, and keep to it.

They say if you schedule a time each day to exercise for 12 day's straight that it will become habit forming and something you can look forward too.

It seems to work for me:) However I could never find out who "they" were? lol

I appreciate the great tips, advice and info.

To everyone's health, Carole

I don't know who "they" are either, but I am glad that it has worked for you. I've heard actually that by scheduling and exercising for a month, it will become a habit. Perhaps they said it was 12 because of this formula: 3 times a week times 4 weeks (a month). (3*4=12).

Keep exercising and staying fit =)
