Janice Kauffman | | This is something that my business partner and I have struggled with. She lives in the Seattle area and I travel there to do home shows etc. We are planning on doing some meetings and can't decide if we should focus on the opportunity or the product. Both are good but with people struggling so much financially these days we thought leading with the opportunity might draw more people.
What have you found works best?
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

 Earline Roberson | | Both!
Since you are traveling for business, why not do both if time permits.
Yout want to show off and sell your products and you want to build your business.
Do a separte meeting for your income opportunity...you can draw from your customers to find those who are interested, but don't base your entire meeting on them.
Advertise and invite separately for both. Private Reply to Earline Roberson |

Lajon Webb | | I've tried leading with the business opportunity and I've tried leading with the product and BOTH were successful. The important thing to do is ask the prospect questions and allow the credible 3rd party tool (website, webinar, live event, private business reception) do its job...!
Remember your business opportunity nor the products you are marketing will cause your prospect to join you in business.
You being a leader and presenting the information in a professional manner. The prospect needs to believe in you as someone who can help get them to profit mode quickly.....or they will be out of the business as soon as they join.
Another thing is don't talk about how much you have or haven't made in income as no amount will EVER be enough..! --- You Are Made For SUCCESS! Lajon Webb http://www.lajonwebb.com

Tim Flowers | | I lead with the product, normally. However, when I meet someone who indicates an interest in starting a business or finding additional income, I don't pass up the opportunity!

Veronica Tan BK | | hi Janice,
I would go for both the product as well as the business opportunity.
There may be some who would be more interested in the product and then there would be others who'll be more interested in making some extra cash.
Don't let the opportunity pass you by...

Janice Kauffman | | We have decided to do both. We will give a presentation of the product first and then invite people to stay for a business opportunity presentation. Hopefully everyone will stay.
Thanks for the help!

Vincent Glover | | I highly recommend selling them on your leadership abilities and your marketing system before opportunity and product. Impart beneficial information to your prospects that solves a problem their having with their primary opportunity. This will induce curiosity about yours then sell them on your marketing system: how your taking product to market.

Jon Moreshead | | I should probably not reply because I am certainly not a guru MLMer and have actually thrown the MLM thing out, mostly because of the answers to this exact question.
I personally would take a tack we were taught in medical school (though most doctors don't do it either) and that is to "Listen to the patient!"
Ask your audience why they showed up tonight, what did they expect, what do they want? Let them know you CARE about THEM, not just about product/opportunity sales.
Sorry I have to be different, but you asked!
Hope this might give some ideas.
Blessings,
