I was shopping at Stein Mart yesterday and saw they already have Christmas displays up! But it got me thinking: how can I leverage the upcoming holidays to my advantage, in relation to my business?

I'm going to get busy sending out catalogs prior to Thanksgiving. My company (Forever Living Products) has hundreds of products that are low priced but suitable for gift giving. I want to get the catalogs into people's hands before they get bombarded with everyone else's!

Also, as gifts this year, I'll be giving out products from my own company. Why should I endure the mall or those "big box" stores when I can stay at home and have everything delivered to me in one box? Not only will I be saving time and money, I'll hopefully get some orders from the happy gift recipients after the holidays are over!

Take a look at what your business offers and see if there are similar holiday opportunities for you. (and if there aren't, let me know and I'll be glad to tell you more about FLP!)

Tim, looks like you were reading my mind ;) My neighbor already put up her Christmas decorations... she was depressed this weekend and on Saturday when I opened my door she had put a big Santa on my door too! LOL

Anyway, I'm already making my list (and checking it twice) I always send something to my kids' teachers so guess what they'll be getting this year.. a cellophane baggie with a nice assortment of aloe products! So will my friends... family members will get a gift basket.

I think it's a win-win situation! You will be adding to your product volume, and they will be getting the best of the best in products from you, not just a useless, dust-collecting trinket you found on the shelf and decided to buy so you are not empty-handed.

It would be interesting to hear how our service mlm'er will be handling this idea...

Christmas is the best time to explode your business with your products/services.

Both my video/conference sales biz and my aloe skin care biz has phenomenal specials and deals, beautiful gifts/hostess specials etc.. right now and right up until the end of the year!

Take advantage of your companies deals/specials or make up some of your own and market them.

Hi Tim,

That's an excellent idea to get in front of people before Thanksgiving. It'll be a good head start. You'll be able to contact them again in a few weeks & if they didn't look over you material now, they might then.

I have an online shopping mall with over 500 stores (http://YourFavoriteLinks.com) and I'm also with a company in the Health & Wellness industry & we have gift baskets with all types of bath, beauty & other household products.

They're even great for giving to your clients as a THANK YOU for being a customer.

So I guess I'll be putting together my mailing list & checking it twice.

May you all have a prosperous week.

Christmas decorations already...we must be a little slow here in Los Angeles. I am surprised I really haven't seen much Thanksgiving deco yet.

It is a great idea to get an early start. Many people are struggling in the economy and if we give them great products and great deals it is a win win.

Wal-Mart will start playing Christmas music the first of November...At least they did last year at ours. I'm starting to see some christmas displays as well in a few stores. Local Hospital is having a Holiday Bazarr already.

I'll jump on the band wagon here...

I've seen a few places starting to 'dress up' for the holidays. Most people here wait until Thanksgiving, but it seems to get earlier every year.

Boy, I hate to start thinking about Christmas so early. Giving our products as gifts is a great idea. I will probably give a few SOC BOXES and gift certificates for free accounts. I hadn't thought about it, but it is a great idea to get people to try out the products.

Thanks for the suggestion Tim!

What about Halloween?

I am giving out cookies and crackers with compliments of my website to Trick or Treaters.

Yes, Christmas displays are already going up here in PA. I don't put mine up till
after Thanksgiving.
