America is bludgeoning the English language!Views: 93
Oct 23, 2009 12:23 amAmerica is bludgeoning the English language!#

Bobbi Jo Woods
Do you cringe every time someone types something erroneous, whether it’s on Facebook, a blog, or even an e-mail? I know I do. Even when it’s something so simple, you’d think they’d know the difference!

That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Well, folks. The gloves are off. I've been meaning to post a series that talks about the increasing decline of folks using proper English these days, and finally started the first of many...

Enjoy!

Do you mean irregardless? Erroneous is a proper word and has been for a long time.

There is one word in the English Language that every American pronounces Wrong. Any idea what it is?

Hey, John! ... I'll take a shot at your question.

IMHO it's the past tense of "Dive" ... Which is increasingly mangled to "Dove".

I wouldn't go so far as to say every American does it, though.

Let me know which colour star I get.

Bestest.

No Scott, you were absoletly Correct. This was designed to make People think. Answer is so simple but gets you thinking about all the words that are mis-pronounced, used wrongly, or as Bobbi Jo has pointed out, Just do not exist.

No I thought Bobby Jo was saying erronious was not a word. I did not read it carefully. So I was erroniously replying.

Hey Folks.

It's funny actually, when you get right down to it... that
our comments in networks are dashed off, miss-spelled,
have typos, bad grammer and bad sentence structure,
incorrect word usage and all... and people STILL hire us
when they have need of our services. In spite of all our
flaws, we can still make a living.

Ain't life grand?

LOL

Yah, Eileen, kinda funny...

I'm sure I'm guilty of a few blunders, myself... as you will read in the blog post, but as I mentioned before, I wouldn't HIRE ME if I saw some of the stuff I typed! That's how much of a snob I am when it comes to stuff like this.

Now, turn the tables and read some of the emails I get requesting a bid or quote on services? I'd be flat broke if I turned any of those away :P

My Wordsearch Adz Puzzles have to be Letter Perfect due to the Nature of their construction, Yet in Posting to the forums, I make some God-Awful Mistakes. I have even put a $100 Bounty to anyone who can find a Typo I made in any of my Puzzles. My Proofreaders are not eligible. Now you know my secret, LOL. It is always wise when you have an important piece, to have someone else read it first before publication, even Newspapers do this. I have always said that a Newspaper is only as good as it;s Proofreaders. Don't be so Vain to think you are above making mistakes.
Take Care,

"a Newspaper is only as good as it;s Proofreaders" should read "a Newspaper is only as good as its Proofreaders."

Possessive, not a mis-typed contraction. ;-)
