Kimberly Brownridge | | Hi! I'm a 30 year old mom that has started an online counseling company. I have two kids, a boy and a girl. I am currently becoming a Ph.D. in General Psychology at Capella University. I am licensed in the state of Missouri and I am a National Certified Counselor. I am also working at a Community Mental Health Agency in Missouri. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 10 years.
My goal is to demystify counseling and to refute the negative stereotypes and myths of counseling. Such as “crazy people need counseling”, “counselors just judge people and/or don’t really understand”, or “counseling is a sign of weakness”. I want to reach clients that would normally never try counseling. I want to educate my clients about the benefits of counseling and offer them a safe environment to try counseling . . . safely in their own homes. That is one of the reasons I chose to have my practice online.
I've have been counseling most my life (since high school), but counseling professionally for the past 3 years. I am ready to start my own business and follow my own dreams and goals.
I am very excited about meeting everyone, learning from each other, and helping each other build our businesses.

Yes, very good introduction - Thanks for taking the time to post your introduction here on the BNO network.
I'm married as well, I'm one year older than you and my wife and I have 4 kids together. 3 boys and a little princess.
I completely agree and understand the stereotypes on counseling that your talking about. I think that's why more people shy away from it than not. I also think there are quite a few people that could use counseling. So I wish you nothing but the best.
