"I Don't Like MLM Because Lots of People Fail in This Business" by Moslem Anoar

Tuesday, Oct 6, 2009

I bet you come across the above statement a lot in your MLM business, right? Some of the people that we talk to hate MLM or do not want to get involved in an MLM business because they’ve heard there are more people who fail in MLM than those who make big money. Well, what can I say? It is true. Yup, you read it right. A large number fail and that is a fact.

But, when you think about it, how many other life endeavors could you replace "MLM" with in the above sentence and it would be just as true? H-m-m-m--let's see.

Lots of people fail in SCHOOL events--more than those who succeed. Only a select few receive first, second, and third place.

Lots of people fail in SPORTS--more than those who succeed. Look at soccer. How many players have reached the world class standard, like Ronaldinho, David Beckham, C. Ronaldo, and Pele?

Lots of people fail in COLLEGE--more than those who graduate summa cum laude.

Lots of people fail in BUSINESS--more than the number who succeed and become millionaires and billionaires.

Lots of people fail as SINGERS--more than those who succeed. Look at American Idol--how many try and how few make it to the recording studio.

Lots of people fail in MODELING—more than those who succeed. Look at how few models have reached world class standard, i.e., Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Iman, Tyra Banks.

Lots of people fail in scaling up the CORPORATE LADDER--more than those who succeed. Look at any organization. How many individuals have reached the highest level such as CEO in their careers?

Lots of people fail in POLITICS--more than those who succeed. Look at how few politicians become the Prime Minister or President of a nation.

Lots of people fail as AUTHORS—more than those who succeed. Look at how many best selling authors are out there compared to the number of aspiring ones who dream of becoming an author.

Lots of people fail as MOVIE STARS--more than those who succeed. Look at how many box office movie stars are out there compared to the number of those who go for an audition day after day.

The list goes on and on and on. So, what’s the big deal about more people failing in MLM than succeed? Next time when people say, “I don’t like MLM because lots of people fail in this business,” enlighten them with this fact of life: The majority of people fail in any given arena of life--more than succeed.

When it comes to failure vs. success, what it boils down to in MLM or whatever the endeavor, is life is about choices. You choose to work hard or not. You choose to study or skip classes when you’re in school. You choose to practice all day long at the football field or just once in a while. You choose to stay awake all night to do your modeling photo shoot or go to bed early. You choose to stay late at the office to complete your work or just leave at 5:00 p.m. regardless, like most of your co-workers. You continue pursuing your dreams or quit half way. I think you see where I’m going with this. Those individuals who are highly motivated, hard working, constantly seeking knowledge, and who persevere in getting what they want will ultimately succeed in life. The rest will be watching from the sideline

What would happen if we took the Word FAILURE
out of the descriptions and tell the TRUTH...

THEY did not perform the requirements necessary to succeed.
THEY refused to Follow simple proved,
for millenniums,
Strategies that work all the time

Failure is a word use to make excuses
for not possessing the Burning Desire,
the willingness to apply dedicated massive Action,
be Persistent and consistent in following your
well designed Battle Plan,
and surrounding yourself with
Like-minded individuals

EXCELLENT, Both Posts

The TRUTH is
Most People don't have what it takes
as mentioned above.

Some People think they have it all
but missing the TIME it TAKES to MAKE it.

Only a FEW just don't care what others say,
They have there "WHY"
They JUST DO IT.
They learn on the way to success,
They don't re-invent the wheel
They're following proven marketing strategies.

Wish you all a prosper day

Chuck & Shirley you hit the nail on the head. Failure is success. Ask Robert Kyosaki, it's a part of growth. You simply didn't get the expected results you where hoping for. That means going back to the drawing board and map out the blue print over till you get the results you visualized and make them a physical reality.

We also must remember that most MLM Companies and a lot of Direct Sales, affilaite programs offer the big Golden ticket! When your shooting for a "million dollar lifestyle" and you've ben living in a "just above broke lifestyle" for years and years, changing the way we think and developing new habits is very, very dificult. No wonder so many quit and then dog on it negatively!

Start setting the right expectations and get rid of the hype...then you will see a higher success rate of people that are actually making money. NOT GETTING RICH but making a true profit! Your always going to have a high turn over rate in this industy it's just the way it is. A lot of people are going to come in thinking they can do it but many will still fall through the cracks...part of the industry we just have to acccept.

So Yes the next time you hear the objection "No thanks nobody ever makes money in that" stop think and be ready with a rebuttle to the objection...I know how you feel, I felt the same way, but this is what I found to be true.

How many of you, and lets be honest here, attempt to handle an objeciton when selling or recruiting...Or do you just say OK thanks then say tell yourself "Some will Some wont - Next!? How many of you have been taught to do that in your company? IF you are..your leaving a lot of money on the table!

Need to learn more about that subject? Get in touch!

Make it a great day and Stay Focused!

The POINT is...many anti-mlmers out there only believe that there is a high failure rate (yeah Im using the word failure to make the point so please no hair splitting,LOL) in mlm when the truth is there is a high failure rate in EVERY type of business and industry and MLM in fact does NOT have a higher failure rate than any other type of business out there!

See?

Here is a well-written post I thought you might be interested in reading. It's by someone named Vicki on http://www.whydowork.com/forums/work-home-business-job-t6421.html

"I have an opinion that I'd like to share. I have been a customer with Melaleuca for 4 years now and I love their products. I am considering starting my own Melaleuca business, and I have made some interesting observations from the feedback on this website. Here they are:

Why are people so defensive? Yes, there are some scams out there, but there are also legitimate businesses. Do your research and find out what the company is about. Don't trash something based what you heard from your friend or what you assume must be true because someone else said it. Just because you have been burned in the past doesn't mean every company is like that.

Many of these companies don't claim to be get rich quick schemes. If it is a legitimate business it will require lots of hard work. I find A LOT of people work a few hours at it and then wonder why they don't make much money. This is not for everyone, and if it's not for you don't pretend it is and then blame the company for letting you down. You actually have to work at this people!

Finally, I find it so strange that people freak out about having to pay something to get started. Don't get me wrong, you should never pay for a work at home JOB, but this is a work at home BUSINESS. There is a big difference and some people just don't seem to get it. This is your own business, and the harder you work, the more you will make. The income potential is unlimited, but you have to work for it. Melaleuca provides the products, website, and customer support you need, and they deliver the products to your door, so of course you have to pay an enrollment fee for this. Do you really think this should be free? If you do you should look into a work at home job, not a work at home business."

It Couldn't Be Done
By Edgar Guest

Somebody said it couldn't be done,
But he with a chuckle replied
That "maybe it couldn't," but he would be one
Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing and he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that;
At least no one has ever done it";
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing and he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That "cannot be done," and you'll do it.

What were they Talking about?

"“In most Americans’ minds it’s a ‘scam’ and a
‘scheme’ – questionable or unethical at best,
immoral and illegal at worst.
“Many own-your-own entrepreneurial
hopefuls have been hyped into turning over
their life savings, only to see the company go
out of business, taking their dreams down
with them.
“Politicians, regulators and the media
(especially the media) cry ‘foul’ whenever its
name comes up. Newspapers, magazines and
television news and talk shows regularly
expose it for the ‘flim-flam rip-off it really is.’
Major corporations who get involved go out of
their way to avoid any appearance of doing
so. There is even a move in Congress to
outlaw it altogether!”

Now, guess: which one is the right answer?
a) TV ministry scams
b) Off-shore Investment schemes
c) Multi-Level/Network Marketing
d) None of the above

If yopu answer correctly I will send copy of
The Think and Grow Rich Workbook.
Will post the correct answer in a while

Heidi:

I love this poem with it's down-to-earth good advice. I remember as a child, at dinnertime, my father listened to a Detroit radio station. The announcer was Bud Guest, son of Edgar A. Guest. He used to recite his father's poetry and I have loved it ever since. Thanks for sharing this one.

I'd like to share another favorite for anyone who is discouraged by temporary failures and setbacks, and who might be thinking about giving up on MLM or anything else in life. I hope it gives you all a smile.

I Ain't Dead Yet
Edgar A. Guest

Time was I used to worry and I'd sit around an' sigh,
And think with every ache I got that I was goin' to die,
I'd see disaster comin' from a dozen different ways
An' prophesy calamity an' dark and dreary days.
But I've come to this conclusion, that it's foolishness to fret;
I've had my share o' sickness, but I Ain't Dead Yet!

Wet springs have come to grieve me an' I've grumbled at the showers,
But I can't recall a June-time that forgot to bring the flowers.
I've had my business troubles, and looked failure in the face,
But the crashes I expected seemed to pass seemed to pass right by the place.
So I'm takin' life more calmly, pleased with everything I get,
An' not over-hurt by losses, 'cause I Ain't Dead Yet!

I've feared a thousand failures an' a thousand deaths I've died,
I've had this world in ruins by the gloom I've prophesied.
But the sun shines out this mornin' an' the skies above are blue,
An' with all my griefs an' trouble, I have somehow lived 'em through.
There may be cares before me, much like those that I have met;
Death will come some day an' take me, but I Ain't Dead Yet!

Amazing that 40 years ago that was the Big taboo.
Terrible thing.
A big Scam to take all your Money

People who labored with Employee Mentalities found these excuses easy to utter.

Diane, thanks for sharing, much wisdom in those poems.

Janice, great video.

Chuck sending you an email. So many franchises today. And you never hear anyone say "You bought a Krisy Kreme Donuts?" "I can't believe you just blew over a million dollars on that scam!"
