This seems like such a great group, and yet there is so little participation... I find that intriguing. How can this board be more active?

Good question Mirdza. I've wondered by some group stay busy while others have less participation. I don't know but I do try to come by on a regular basis to make my contributions. Any suggestions would be great and aside from appointing members to post on certain days, I'm not sure what else could be done. Thanks for asking and God bless.

Hi Ladies.

Any network is only as strong as it's leaders. With
regular posters you get topics of interest where members
are invited to add their two cents on a large array of
topics to do with business, raising your children, health
and wellness and many more subjects of interest to women.

For this network, Sherry, Gazelle and I (to my knowledge)
are the only moderators and/or regular posters who
participate and I've been woefully short on article writing
for WOT as, like all of us, I have businesses to run,
clients to serve and uh, a life away from the keyboard.

We may need to organize a bit more, a bit better and do our
best to bring our members out of their shells.

You see, members have a responsibility too. It is their
job to let us know if what we do is helping them. If what
we do means anything to them and if what we do makes a
difference in thier business endeavors and everyday lives.

Without feedback all we DO do is worthless, in our view, as
we have no way of knowing if the members are benefiting
from our efforts.

WOT is about motivating it's members to take the next step
in organizing local chapters for women in areas where other
resources may not be availble. It's supposed to be a place
where questions get answered by women who have 'been there,
done that' in business and online and who can help solve
these problems.

So, as we discuss the participation level, we have two areas to think on...

• What are we, as the leaders, doing to help our members?
• AND what are the members gaining from our efforts?

There is one more element that might come into play and
that is EXPOSURE. All businesses need to expose themselves
to groups they belong to and as a member, feedback and .02
commenting is not only expected but required to help a
group grow and flourish.

PS - (Gazelle, I have your information, did not forget and
you are next on the list for updating! I was offline for
almost a week as my AT&T equipment failed and not only was
I unable to get online, my local LAN was down too. What a
MESS! I'm playing catch up now...)

No problem Eileen. I had my AT&T modem die on me the week before last when I was scheduled to speak at a networking event that day. :( Thank God I had purchased another one for the girl's computer and I just needed to network both computers together to fix the problem. You are the second person to tell me their AT&T modem died recently. Let's see how long this one lasts. Good luck getting caught up and God bless.
