Here I thought TweetLater (now Socialoomph) was awesome. But now, I see something called TweetMiner is out. Check out what this amazing program does. I think you will be impressed. Here's the link - TweetMiner. And, to think, there are still some folks out there in the Ryze community who think Twitter is a fad. If the naysayers are correct, there's a big disappointment looming on the horizon not only for Twitter users, but a huge network of developers. But, I don't see that happening. This is not like the mortgage crisis that so devastated our entire economy thanks to some people cheating the system to make a fast buck.
This is instead about being able to deliver real value to the public...value that can actually be enhanced by public participation. Twitter is all about CARING, CONNECTING and having a GOOD DESIGN. People flock to Twitter because they see value in establishing an identity in the social media space.

I'm trying to NOT pick up on all the new twitter apps. I also use tweetdeck sparingly these days. I'm trying to build my twitter base around twitter "lists" and curb my dependence on tweetdeck.
It's hard as all get out to get used to this and I'm still forming my lists and lists for PLF. I want PLF's twitter account to be cleaner than mine so when I turn it over to one of the folks at PLF (at some point) it will not require outside software to maintain.
As twitter evolves, I think it will have more and more of it's own tools built-in. So, it makes sense to learn to use those tools instead of depending on an outside software source.
I'll go look it over, and I'm sure it's probably a pretty nifty set-up (most of those apps are) but probably won't hang my hat there for anything permanent.

Like Eileen, I'm not into collecting all the various Twitter apps & services out there unless I know what they do and am interested. I only get interested when I find out how they helped someone else AND how that app/tool has helped solve some problem they have.
Can you post WHY you use it, WHY you like it and/or perceive that it solves some issue or makes some Twitter usage easier/more fun/valuable for you?
I think you will find that with pretty much all people in this world--whether you know them or not--in order to convince or persude folks, it's best to make it relate to them. Tell us more...don't hype it (best, cool, awesome, uplifting, good design, etc.) Who knows? Perhaps they don't do a good job of selling it, anyway. I know there are at least a couple of apps/tools out there that I've "checked out" based on recommendations from users...but their site sucked and/or lacked information...however, the users were able to illustrate that, where the developers/providers did not.
Tell us the what, how and why. Simply linking to something and saying, "check it out" is not going to convince anyone.
I'm listening :) Private Reply to Bobbi Jo Woods | | Oct 31, 2009 3:25 pm | | re: Twitter Fans Rejoice...TweetMiner Has Arrived | # | James P Reardon Sr. | | I think everyone will find their own way that they can benefit from twitter and all those who want to build applications.
I use a PHP script with over 28 messages that I would like to have repeated and add new ones when I run across something to tweet about. Using codes from the API and building a PHP script and using the cron job manager to call it ever hour, my posts are contributed every hour.
by the way Lamar the TweetMiner is hyper linked to ryze_blank page it didn't work.

I just watched the video concerning this software program and was impressed with what I saw. Unfortunately, I must have mistyped the link in my post. Therefore, when you clicked on the link in the top post to this thread, you came back to Ryze rather than going to the specific link. So, let's try it again. This time I am going to check it out to make sure it works before I actually post the message.
Here is the link - TweetMiner.net.
Okay, I checked the link. It worked for me. Now, while I have not purchased the product - let alone started to use the product - I was impressed with what I saw in the video demo. Please watch the video and let me know what you think.
If you are interested in knowing what I am using with Twitter, I will gladly share that information.
I use TweetDeck to help organize my Tweets and those of others who are in my Twitter audience. The big reason I use TweetDeck is because it resides on my desktop. I do not need to go online to check my tweets. By clicking on the "blue T" I can micro-manage all my Twiter reasources associated with TweetDeck. That's nice.
Thanks to many third-party software programs associated with Twitter, it is possible to automate many things you might otherwise have to do manually. For example, I use Mr. Tweet to find me people who would be good for me to be "following." I use Socialtoo to automate my follow/unfollow needs, plus to create surveys which automatically go to my Twitter audience and bar graph the results of the feedback. I use Socialoomph (formerly TweetLater)to send out delayed tweets. That way, I can do all (or most) of my tweeting at the beginning of the day for the entire day and evening.
For me, the biggest value in Twitter is not found in the software applications. It's found in the people who make up your Twitter audience - especially "the caring crowd." I cannot emphasize that enough. Just having a few friends willing to retweet my messages I think is extremely beneficial. While I have numerous friends who retweet messages for me, the most famous Ryzer for retweeting is without-a-doubt Teddy Towncrier. He is the one who alerted me to this tremendous tool, which has nothing to do really with software, but has everything to do with "CARING PEOPLE."

While I appreciate your lengthy response and explanation, I'm still unconvinced about why I should use this app.
And now that you mention that I might have to pay for it, I'm even more unconvinced.
But just to be fair... When you post a thread like, "Twitter fans rejoice", one could expect to find much more than a link to tell them to leave and go watch some video about it. Like perhaps, a rave review. Possibly some tips on how it works and/or using it successfully.
But in this scenario--one should expect at the VERY LEAST--a teeny, weeny bit about what IT IS :)
Is this another thing you are promoting for someone? And since you aren't using it yourself, why should I? Or anyone else, for that matter? Aren't you a PR expert? Isn't public relations about promoting and selling something/someone/a brand or image to the public? Sell it to us ;)
I get the whole thing you have with retweeting for friends.
But frankly, even good friends know whether something is WORTH a RT. While I don't use Twitter in the hopes that everyone following me is hanging on to every word I tweet, I do appreciate when folks RT. But it's not valueable for your followers to RT everything. Retweeting something for someone is like giving it a stamp of approval. You don't RT someone's Tweet about them going to the bank. You don't RT about them posting a mediocre blog link. You RT when you either LIKE something, or you think a majority of others will find some value in it--even if you might not.
Let's face it. We can't all afford to own a bar of gold. When there's a few good tweets by our followers, it's great to spread them around. However, no one wants everyone to RT every darn thing they post. Because if we did that, Twitter would get pretty mundane and repetitive, with all these RT being thrown around, like so much leftover food.
Just MHO

Here's what is possible. Those who have a computer that can handle TweetDeck can configure it so that friends who retweet each other's messages can have their own column. You look in that column first thing in the morning and before you go to bed at night. If you see something in there from you like, you retweet it simply by clicking an icon. Simple. That's all there is to it. In doing that simple task you are helping a friend and bonding further with your own audience.

I've already explained in other posts on this forum that I'm not only familiar with how Tweetdeck works, I USE IT on my other computer...specifically speaking, my mini netbook by Acer. Which I'm actually composing this reply from now...AND using Tweetdeck as well.

All I know about TweetMiner is what I saw in the video. I was impressed by what I saw I decided to share the video link here. You asked questions regarding what folks could do with "it." Well, if by "it" you mean TweetMiner, all I can say is "watch the video." That's all I have done. However, if by "it" you mean Twitter, there is quite a bit more I can share with you. Just let me know what you need. If I can answer the question for you, I will be more than happy to do so. However, I cannot address specific questions regarding TweetMiner because I have yet to use it.
Even though this post has your name on it, I assume other folks are going to read it. And, some of those folks may benefit from knowing what TweetDeck can do for them - even though you have let us all know that you no longer need such information.
