It was not written by an outsider - someone living outside the USA. It was written by someone who lived in my very own Northern California county. I thought the article was very good. It simply lacked specific examples on how to recover from our current economically hard times. So, I decided to add my insight as a comment.
Some of you have taken my advice and freely subscribed to the Lake County News to be able to comment upon articles I write that get published in this online newspaper. I encourage you to read this article and provide your insight the same way I have done. Together, we can show Lake County, CA how mutual collaboration can make a difference.
Here's a budURL link to be able to read the article - budurl.com/Cooperating.

Throw into the mix worshiping such usless people as Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, 90% of all the rappers [Run DMC, LL Cool J and others nevr abandoned their roots and made themselves role models], the gutless and morally bankrupt politicians on both sides.
People buy stuff to compensate for lack of success. They want others to think they have made it, yet they lack the skills commensurate with that level.
From the 50's to the 80's this was called appliance rich. It refereed to people having kitchens with all the gadgets, but no money. There was even a Honeymooners episode about it. It has extended to the rest of the house.
People still care, that really has not changed. But that is not the answer. As much as people care and as much as they believe in themselves, it doe snot make them an American Idol. Some people have to be told you are talentless in that respect. That is truly caring.
The American dream is the freedom to do what you want, it is not success or owning a home. Those are myths sold to us by people want to distract us. Think bread and circuses. Private Reply to Scott Wolpow | | Nov 01, 2009 4:08 pm | | re: re: Making "The American Dream" A Reality Once Again | # | Lindsay Douglas | | This is a great topic of discussion and one that is not just for the American people alone.
Long has the world viewed the U.S. as the benchmark for wealth, success, and the pursuit of freedom. The accumulation of material and financial objects is the mirage mistakenly associated with success and happiness by many people from all over the world, not just the U.S.
Scott, you are right on the money about who we worship and hold in high-esteem. The world's fascination with the likes of Paris Hilton baffles me. No disrespect to Paris and her family, but what value does she give society?
If we look at the veneration the world has for some of our sporting stars and celebrities, such as English Football, it is obvious - well, to me anyway - that our focus is misdirected. Some of these sporting "heroes" are paid ridiculous amounts of money and held so high as role models because they play what, football!!! Really well I might add, but does that make them worthy of such adoration and worship? All too often we are seeing some of these people crack under the pressure of fame and fortune and they believe they are bigger and better than everyone else and lash out and physically hurt and abuse the people around them. People, wake up!!!
Every day there are many people adding real value to society, trying to make this world a better place so we can exercise our right to enjoy life and live the "Dream". The volunteers and socially minded people that give so much of themselves for the betterment of others. They are not wealthy in terms of their material possessions so we discard them as "nice to have around" and "I'm glad someone does this work, just not me thanks", we want egotistical, over paid celebs to worship. No wonder our youth are confused and angry.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with wealth and the pursuit of riches; this allows us to provide the resources to help those less fortunate. It is all about our intent. The focus needs to be brought back to a community and societal level. Not the individual.
The good news is we are beginning to evolve and recognise the power of the community. Ryze is one excellent example. Private Reply to Lindsay Douglas | | Nov 01, 2009 7:38 pm | | re: re: re: Making "The American Dream" A Reality Once Again | # | Lamar Morgan 707-709-8605 | | There seems to be a "catch-22" here. America is both the "good guy" and the "bad guy" - all at the same time. All of a sudden Uncle Sam, who appears powerful enough to defend democracy around the world, has an Achilles Heel with an arrow in it. Uncle Sam is bleeding. Does anybody care? No! And, why is that? It's because, folks say, "Uncle Sam shot himself in the foot." Therefore, the problem belongs to Uncle Sam and no one else. To add insult to this injury, I have heard that our President, Barak Obama, agrees with this world assessment of the USA and is very apologetic.
Here is something to ponder. Article II Section 2 of the United States Constitution requires that all International treaties be ratified by 2/3 of the U.S. Senate, but an international treaty is irreversible. That's not much protection for a treaty that could have permanent devastating effects to the USA. What treaty am I talking about? I am talking about a treaty President Obama is scheduled to sign in December concerning global warming. If this is not a hoax, it scares the living daylights out of me. There has never been a more important reason to impeach a sitting President than for willingly signing away a democracy's sovereignty. Watch the video and share your comments. Here's the link - Treaty.

I have just finished listening to a similar radio interview that I was sent from a relative in Australia. This is very scary stuff if there is any truth in Lord Monckton's message. The internet is such a powerful tool for the individual.
Here is the link if anyone is interested. It does make one wonder about what the truth actually is. http://2gb.com.au/index2.php?option=com_newsmanager&task=view&id=4998 Private Reply to Lindsay Douglas | | Nov 01, 2009 10:20 pm | | re: re: re: re: re: Making "The American Dream" A Reality Once Again | # | Lamar Morgan 707-709-8605 | | Lindsay,
Thanks for that link. I listened to the radio interview with Lord Monckton. Now, in the interview, Lord Monckton said he was to be on the Glen Beck show on Fox News next Friday. Is that this coming Friday or has that interview already happened?
If what Lord Monckton said is true, global warming has now been officially debunked by MIT. So, why even have this treaty? Because the Communists still want to dominate the world as getting to the world to sign this treaty is how they are going to do it.
The Greenpeace movement, Moveon.org, Newshound, Planned Parenthood - all haters of Fox News - are probably routing for the signing of this treaty. Why? Because they believe Al Gore has it right...and all the REAL experts have it wrong. Yet, from what I am hearing, the treaty is not so much about what to do to stop or reverse the effects of global warming as it is the creation of a one-world government. And, that is just what the Communists want.
How can we stop President Barak Obama from signing this treaty?

President Obama plans to sign the Copenhagen Treaty in December, at United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It will put a cap on the Co2 (or carbons) that the GLOBAL goverment will allow to exist in the environment, GLOBALLY.
President Obama is also NOT shy about signing a domestic agreement that would also threaten the way our world lives.
A direct quote from www.nocapandtrade.com:
"This the Copenhagen Protocol, which critics say is a back-door approach to world government that could undermine US sovereignty. Indeed, the framework language assembled by the UNFCCC does appear to establish global government and a world energy tax that will primarily target the United States. It should be noted that the United Nations is currently funded by voluntary donations from member nations. It has no taxing authority, but the draft treaty language would establish a permanent tax revenue stream for the UN.
The Obama Administration desperately wants to pass a domestic cap-and-trade bill before going to Copenhagen in December. "
This would be devastating to the country indeed. It would put thousands (possibly more) out of work because it would affect industrial and factory jobs, coal mines, and the like.
Co2 (carbon dioxide) is in fact, a necessary and life-giving thing, contrary to what the enviro-Nazi's and whacktivists say. They are confusing Co2 with carbon MONoxide. Duuuuuhhhhh...
We need Co2 for life and for plants and other livng things to survive.
Here is a movie I JUST saw tonight, called "Not Evil, Just Wrong". It was created and funded by 2 people who in turn were able to completely raise the 5.5 million it cost to research and produce. I went to the screening here in St. Paul, and it showed all the things that debunked Al Gore's crazy, sensational and downright threatening, "An Inconvenient Truth".
You can learn more about the cap and trade info and the trailer for the film, "Not Evil, Just Wrong" at:

I saw the trailer, but not the movie? I obviously missed the live streaming. Is there anywhere I can go and see the actual movie? If not, what did you think of the movie?

Could this be a deliberate ploy to rouse the masses to benefit another "evil" party? Personally I find it a little hard to accept that all the world leaders would sign up to such a Treaty.
Before I launch into a "let's hang Obama" campaign and join the posse, I need more facts. I cannot rely on the rantings of what could be an eccentric English aristocrat that has been sipping a little too much Sherry. Being a Lord does not give anyone credibility or integrity.
Have a look at this blog. Lord Monckton has a bit of history to consider before Obama gets hung out to dry. I don't have the answers, but I will be stepping warily down this path. http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2009/05/moncktons-deliberate-manipulation/
I hope and pray that this is just a tipsy Lord with his nose out of joint and causing mischief. Private Reply to Lindsay Douglas | | Nov 02, 2009 9:22 am | | Re: Making "The American Dream" A Reality Once Again | # | Teddy Towncrier | | I wasn't aware The American Dream was evaporating.
Why on earth are we expending so much energy on the possibility?

I don't know anything about a live stream for the movie.
I know it was first shared with people around the world on Oct. 18th in several cities, but just like the screening I attended last night--they are showing these locally and you have to show up in person to a venue, to view the film. Since you saw the entire movie, not simply a trailer like I did, what did you think of the movie? Please share your thoughts.
