Lesson One results so far ...Views: 2254

Russ Jackman
Hi Marilyn,

I wanted to send you a quick update of my progress since beginning Lesson 1. Even at this early stage, I have noticed a shift in my attitudes towards prosperity, and I have to say that thinking from a prosperity frame of mind is a lot more fun and exciting! Not only that, but it has opened opportunities already in my business and personal life.

Just prior to enrolling in the 2 week teleclass and beginning Lesson 1, I had listed my home for sale. After two weeks, when I was told that an offer was going to be submitted later that day, I sat down and calculated how much I wanted to walk away with after closing, and worked backwards to the price I needed to achieve that goal. After the offers and counteroffers settled, I had a deal within $163 of the amount I wrote down!

You may not think that is exceptional, but consider this: Prior to beginning Lesson 1, I went through the "how much will I walk away with" process on a pad with 4 different sales figures, ranging between $3,000 and $13,000 less than the amount I wrote down *after* beginning the course. Did the lesson exercises directly result in the higher sale price for my home? Who knows ... but before Lesson 1, I was "hoping" to get the lower amount; after beginning Lesson 1, I was "expecting" the higher sale price.

As great as that was, it also meant I would be homeless at the end of September :) Before listing my home, I made a conscious decision to invest most of the proceeds and rent for the next few years ... hoping for something bright, spacious, and suitable for me to operate my expanding web design business from. The search was on!

I called all of the apartment ads that appeared to have the space I require. Most of the apartments I went to see were either small and plain, or large and run-down. I had finally decided to call and rent one that was clean and bright, though much smaller than I felt I needed for a home business, only to find it had already been rented short-term until January 1st. The thought of moving twice in three months didn't appeal to me, so I was back to square one.

For some reason, my instinct told me to call one particular ad for the second time ... the space sounded perfect, but it was nearly twice the price of the other places I looked at, and it was in a small lakeside village south of town (I had planned to stay in the same city I've called home for the past 15 years), so originally I dismissed it without going to see it. This time, something compelled me to drive down and at least look at this place that was too expensive, located in a town I didn't want to move to.

I immediately fell in love with the lakeview loft. The light, the energy, the view ... everything just felt right. This felt like the place I should be living in ... but there was still the issue of price. I made the owner an offer, and he agreed to call the next morning after he had time to consider it. To be honest, my offer was much higher than I had intended to pay, *and* it was lower than the landlord was willing to go during our earlier conversations ... but with your help and guidance (for which I am truly, truly grateful), I was able to visualize living in this wonderful space and maintain a prosperity attitude that night. The next morning, the owner called with a proposal that made sense for both of us.

Funny thing is, now that the deal is signed, I'm not worried about the money. I just "know" that my business and my personal life will thrive in this new location. (By the way, if you want to see what I'm so excited about, I posted a gallery to share with family and friends ... http://www.internetadvisor.ca/303bridge/)

It's 2:50 am, and I'm just about to do my lesson work for the day. I missed it yesterday, the first day missed since I started. It would be easier to just go to bed now and miss a second day. But when I think of the changes, opportunities, intuitions, and coincidences just over the past few weeks, I realize how important it is for me to do the lesson work today, and each and every day.

Marilyn, I was so excited talking about my new place, I almost forgot to share results on the business side. Again trusting my intuition, I quoted my last project $1,000 higher than I had originally intended, and proposed a $600 upgrade to a project currently in development. I asked what I thought my services were worth, and both clients readily agreed. This also means that I am solidly booked until the end of October!

So far from Lesson One, I have a successful real estate transaction, a fantastic new place to live, and an extra $1,600 ... I can't wait to see what happens with Lesson 2 :)

Thank you Universe, and thank you Marilyn!

Russ

Hey Russ,

You sure your last name's Jackman? You sure it's not Kennedy or Trump and you're just sandbagging us? That pad is incredible!!! Congratulations on the new place, the extra business, and everything else that seems to be going so well for you.

And then Mr. Jackman wrote to me and also shared in our teleclass Wednesday...

He was shopping for furniture for his new pad and wondering if he should be spending so much and AS he was shopping, his cell phone rang...he got another new client to the tune of $3,000.

That's called stepping out in faith...when you come to realize that your account at the Universal Bank of Supply is always full, it will be.

Don't you love this stuff?

:-)

Marilyn

P.S. That looks like quite the bachelor pad, doesn't it? (wink, wink)
