Rangashree Srinivas | | Hi! I am looking for someone with social committment & an academic background to run this centre:
The Goodbooks Trust is involved in creating ‘Learning spaces’ at various places to aid and improve the quality of education in India. These are Resource Centres housing a bank of materials, books, teaching and learning aids, making them accessible and usable by teachers and children from classes I – V. The resource material and books have been selected, sourced and catalogued in such a way that they supplement and complement the school curriculum. These spaces are vibrant state-of-the-art library-cum-resource centres generating interest and excitement among teachers and children which is the first step towards any improvement in standards of teaching and learning.
We have a full fledged centre at Goodbooks displaying Learning Material for Primary school; A word play unit has been developed with games in english & tamil; many workshops for teachers have been conducted by different resource persons (which the TRC coordinates); a resource centre has been set up in SOS village, Tambaram; A learning material catalogue & Technical manual has been developed.
We have been approached by other organisations - one among them being Sarva Siksha Abhyan, for setting up centres at their premises.
At the moment I am handling the responsibilty, but have to leave due to personal commitments. I assure you I have had hands on experience working with teachers & children at SOS Village Tambaram and it has been most rewarding!
This job is Chennai based & details reg time; salary can be worked out according to individual needs & capabilities.
