T.E.A.M. Mom!

Bath/Body Care/Aromatherapy:
#1. If you sell essential oils, bath oils, etc...you can fins a wholesaler of bottles itc, and purchase 2dram (that's the size) amber bottle. these bottles are tiny, but you would be able to put enough product for people to just sample. If you give too big of samples, they could last forever, and besides, essential oils and most bath oils can get pretty costly. You don't want to eact up you profits and investments by handing out huge samples. Wrap a personalized label arounf it, stick it in a plastic zip bag w/ a biz card and coupon, and you have a filler!

#2. Same concept, but for body butters, whips, lotions...the same manufacturers will typically carry teeny tiny little sampler jaars..5grams or less..use a spatula to scoop out the lotion (sanitization is key here, folks) and put it in the little pots. You can easily make customized round labels with your printer, and label each one with the product name & scent. Put these in little plastic zip bags with a biz card and coupon.

Sewing/Crochet. etc...
#1. Here's a cool idea.... an empty spool...not sure if they still sell the wodden varieties, but if they do..even better. Slap a personalized label around the spool, stick it in a plastic zip bag with an easy pattern of SOMETHING for them to make themselves, your business card, coupon etc. A very unique promo!

~~~AMERIPLAN~~~ Specifically...or related cervices based business:
#1. Coupons always work. But that is usually the norm for a services based business. Spice it up a little. In a slightly larger plastic zip bag, include the following (toothbrush ...dollar stores sometimes sell these in packs, and THEN your coupon biz card etc. You could also substitute the toothbrush for other things like, Tic Tacs, mint gum (both can be labeled with your info) dental floss...again label it.. a magnifying glass (to represent vision benefits)
Personalized Candy Wrapper Businesses:
#1. If I need to tell you to promote your own product with your own product, we're having a problem here! LOL!! Why not make a personalized candy bar wrapper (candy included, of course) with YOUR info on it?
#2. Chocolate pop. Those are easy and inexpensive to make, and yummy too! attach a handtag to it (or punch a hole in your business card) and tie to the pop.
Web Graphics/Services:
#1. Heres a REALLY cute idea for halloween...or ANY day if you REALLY wanna get someones attention (either that, or I just have a sick sense of humor which is entirely possible! LOL!!!) attach to a card, business card size, a plastic spider (even the ring ones you see around at halloween) and on the card, say something like.."We're weaving Webs of Success!..Build your web-site with us!" Or.."We're All About Webs" Or.."No spiders here, just webs.." and then your info. You may scare the bejesus outta someone in the process...but you will certainly get their attention, they will absolutely look at your card..and even better?...They will REMEMBER YOU!
#2. Taking it a step further (if you are bold enough for this one) those little fake fuzzy mice that they sell in pet stores....(I know, I know, it's over the top...but you want to grab their ATTENTION with your promo items...you don't want to be another business card or coupon tossed or lost, do you?) Same concept with the mouse, but on the card say..."our mouse works for you...creative web design...blah blah blah...) you get the picture... :o)
Crafts Business/Craft Supplies:
#1. Tie three hot glue sticks with raffie and attatch your business card/coupon.
Jewelry Businesses:
#1. TC (I am a TOTAL advocate for this place!) http://www.orientaltrading.com They have those plastic dress-up rings for little girls...include oone in a small zip bag with a biz card, coupon, or offer and a slip of paper that says...My customers are treated like gold!" OR..
#2. This can be used in any business reaally...but the jewelry thing got me to thinking... The Candy Hershey's Gold Nuggets..you know..the ones wrapped in gold foil.....wrap one of those up in pretty white tule with a business card tied on with ribbon. On the back have something like..."My customers are worth their weight in gold"
Children's Books/Educational Toys:
#1. Educational toys: I'm a dollar-store-aholic! I swear, they hear the "cha ching!" of the register when I walk through the dooor! LOL!! Usually over in the birthday party section of the store, you will find goodie bag fillers for kids birthday parties. See if you can find one that has a pack of small puzzles. Put one in a medium sized zip bag, attch a label to the back of it, and a coupon and/or flyer featuring two to three products you would like to sell (or the best selling products) offer specials on these and be sure to have your URL (website...for those who don't talk tech, :o) )
#2. Children's Books:
You can print out from the computer, mini coloring books. Include these with a crayon or two, add your info and you have a filler!
#3. Kids Books...You can print out mini flip boooks (about an inch or two in height) add one with a flyer/special business card)
Other helpful tips and advice:
#1. When you rep with a company that sells a consumable product, (ex. cosmetics, body care, gourmet mixes, etc) it is sometimes much cheaper to purchase a full-sized product and make your own samplers as opposed to purchaseing the samplers from the company. If you go this route, however, make sure that your samples are professional looking!!
#2. The idea of fillers and promotional items is to stand out, have yourself in the view of your potential customers/clients/audience as much as possible and to grab their attention. Magnets are always great...but make yours unique! How many times have we been handed a key chain from a realtor or car repair place? Do you really use them? I know I don't! So you do not want to do what everyone else is doing or has done!
Enjoy!
