Lesson 7 - What do I do if I am suspended by Ryze?
Believe it or not, this has happened to MOST of us - even some Network Leaders!
The basic rule is that you cannot send the same PM to more than 2 people and this is done to curb the number of Spammed messages received my members. If you ignore the warning the Ryze flashes on your screen (believe me, you can't miss it!), you will be suspended for 48 hours.
During that 48 hours, you will be able to view the boards, but not post and you will not be able to receive PM's either.
This is frustrating, but it is intended to teach you the lesson - Ryze does not tolerate Spam!
"But my message wasn't Spam!"
Neither was ours, but the server has no heart or ability to read the meaning of your message. If the server sees the same text being sent to several people, your message will be deemed as Spam - sorry, we can't change that.
So.... what do you do, if you are suspended? Nothing! Just wait it out and be more careful in future posts.
BTW. You can be suspended from networks, too. For example, I was suspended from the Network Leaders network (that's the one run by Ryze Admin), for posting a question that they felt was not 'on point'. Personally, I thought this to be a little harsh but accepted the 48 hour suspension - I have never posted to that board again. Each network is different in it's rules, because the Network Leader decides on what rules will apply to their network and sometimes (depending on the infraction), suspension can be permanent.
Like everything else in life, we have to ask ourselves if our actions are fair, before posting or sending PM's. For example: you might feel that promoting your product to those who YOU feel might benefit is OK. Look at this from the recipients point of view and you'll find that they will probably consider it to be an invasion of privacy. Ask youself if you would like 330,000 (according to my information, this is the number of Ryze members) people PM'ing you with their product information. If the answer is 'No', then don't do it to others.
Remember at all times that Ryze is not for free advertising, UNLESS it is allowed by the network (according to posted rules and you'll find these in the network page header). Free advertising as permitted by Network Leaders is a priviledge, not a right and should be respected. For example, on my other board, I have posted very simple and clear rules, however, every week, I find that a couple of members try to get their ad's in after deadline and most weeks will see me deleting 3 or 4 posts by Ryze members who have no intention of contributing anything to my board BUT advertisements!
It is only fair to advertise on boards (where ad's are allowed) that you have had meaningful input, thereby giving something in return for your ad.
