But what about trust in the virtual world of blogging? Do we believe what is written because it is written? What criteria do you set yourself to trust a weblog?
Kind regards,

Your post appears to tackle two different subjects: - trust in public figures, does being a celebrity mean you are actually trustworthy? - trusting all that is written on the internet as accurate, can I trust what I read?
In respect of the first, I think history will show that being a public figure is far from a guarantee that soneone is trustworthy. So my answer would be, trust is something you "EARN" regardless wether you are Don , Karel, John or whomever.
In respect of the second issue: the answer should be a big NO.
Having said that there are good ways of evaluating the information you find on the internet. I recall writing a white paper on the subject while still in the Netherlands and with PwC, in the time we set up the OSIC (Open Source Intelligence Centre).
I will check if I still have the paper and if I have irt digitally, I should send it to you. The paper is in Dutch. I might be tempted to translate it to english though.
