I am not sure if you are aware of what is happening to women and children in the Congo (Africa) but I was so touched by a story I saw recently on CNN that I did some research and found this situation very disturing and certainly deserving of my support. As the five-year conflict rages on in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, women and girls continue to be sexually assaulted by members of the many warring militias, the majority of whom are infected with HIV/AIDS.

Here are a couple of links to stories on this issue for you to check out for yourself. It is an important issue that needs immediate attention.

There is a wonderful charity called healafrica.org that offers help and hope to victims in the Congo. I just completed an article on my top 5 favorite charities, started out to be my top 4, but just had to include Heal Africa as #5!!

Despite all the terrible things that happen in this country we don't realize just how fortunate we really are compared to those in other countries. I hope you all will take a few minutes to get better informed on this important issue.

If you wouldn't eat it why feed it to your skin?
