Hi, I have created a blog from msn and I am hoping to get some feedback. I welcome the good, bad, ugly & uglier, hopefully not too much of the later. Thanks everyone. Oh, the address. http://spaces.msn.com/visioncast

Hi Terry,

I don't usually comment on blogs, since they're usually personal and you can do pretty much anything you want on a personal web site :)

I'm not sure if you're trying to drum up business or trying to maintain a personal blog. If it's for business, I would strongly suggest you get your own domain name and stick the blog on that.

Usability issues: the goldenrod-yellow titles on grey background are hard to read. Try using some other color combination. The grey is probably a bit too dark - you need more contrast between the background and the foreground colors.

The side bars are EXTREMELY busy! It looks like you're trying to advertise 100,000 things all at the same time. This makes it difficult to find any specific thing and is more confusing than anything else. If you had your own web site, you could take a lot of these and stick them on various pages, making that page a lot cleaner. Some of them you could easily remove without a problem: really, do you want to send visitors off to the Weather Channel or Mapquest? (If you stuck them there for yourself, I would suggest you create a del.icio.us account, which was made for maintaining your bookmarks on the web.)

Re-read your text - I found lots of little typos here and there.

The November 26 entry of your blog has me perplexed. Putting a real estate ad in a blog is weird, especially when it was written for print ("see picture" but no accompanying picture). If you want to use your blog to promote your business, you need to do it as a blogger would or people will dismiss your blog as that from a company that doesn't understand blogging. There's nothing wrong with advertising within a blog, but you need to do it using a casual style of speech. Something like:
"I'm very excited to announce that I have a great new real estate opportunity." and so on and so forth.

Good luck,
Sylvie
