Chandrashekhar | | VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ FIRST.
There is a cap of 30 attendees for this, to keep things manageable. Since it's a course by course affair, timeliness is important. The food serving will start at 8:00 PM, even if somebody has yet to make it.
In order to confirm your presence in addition to your RSVP below you MUST call Chandrashekhar (09323805333) and leave a contact number. -- This is to prevent a situation like the last time when many people RSVP'd and did not show up.
Please mention your food preference in RSVP.
i.e. Veg or Non Veg.
http://www.ryze.com/ed.a?eid=32427
The food will be a mix of far-eastern and other world cuisine. It will be a "tasting menu mixer" i.e., it will have many courses, each of will try to give you a different texture, flavour, and cooking method.
The idea is to combine many different tastes, flavours, textures, and colours, so not everything will be "spicy" or "sweet" or anything fixed. As opposed to a "family style" meal, each of these 7 courses are smaller portions and should not be compared to a standard restaurant serving. (Or else you would be very full at the end of the 3rd course or so.)
All payments to be made at the venue in cash. Liquor is not included in the price but certain drinks will be made available at a discount to Sigfood members on the day.
NON VEGETARIAN MENU - Rs. 500 per person
- Amuse bouche (surprise "mouth pleasers" little bites from the chef)
- Warm mixed melon salad with mint and crushed peanuts
- Tea-smoked chicken and celery with sweet soy sauce and sichuan pepper-salt
- King prawn with essence of shrimp and brandy cream, mix mushroom stir-fry and green salad
- Steamed ribbon of red snapper stuffed with fish mousse
- Coconut rice with crispy chicken wing, fried whitebait fish, sambal, egg, and peanuts
- Ginger, lime and Lemongrass sorbet
VEGETARIAN MENU - Rs. 400 per person
- Amuse bouche (surprise "mouth pleasers" little bites from the chef)
- Warm mixed melon salad with mint and crushed peanuts
- Dumplings of vegetables with two sauces - brown butter and chilli ginger
- Sesame Eggplant and Rice wine Zucchini with toasted almonds and Asian "pesto"
- Roasted Broccoli, baby bok choy, and black mushroom in a citrus coconut cream sauce, with rice noodle salad
- Coconut rice with crispy tofu and beans, raw papaya salad, sambal, and peanuts

Vijay Nayak | | 'Mingling' is a personal initiative :) Small crowd anyways and we all get to sit around the table and talk. Of course, thats in between delicious bites and morsels, which Madhu Menon will be dishing up for us! Knowing us Ryzers very well, I am sure the sit-in dinner WON'T be a British ishtyle propoah formal dinner. Will be good food and pleasent atmosphere for sure.. Private Reply to Vijay Nayak |

Suman Tripathy | | Vijay,
That propah, British ishtyle sit down dinner i think is not followed 2 that extent anywhere, except only in the Defence Services - still ! All the formal courtsies, the minutest details - how 2 break ur dinner roll, where 2 keep ur napkin, ur fork, knife, etc r 2 b followed strictly. Private Reply to Suman Tripathy |

Madhu Menon | | Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We shall now review the flight operating procedures so you have a smooth trip to foodie land on Sunday.
To review:
1) Please arrive by 7:30 PM so you can all mingle and meet each other. The cocktail lounge is reserved for this event.
2) Please bring cash to pay for your seat. The cost per person, once again, is Rs. 500 for non-vegetarian and Rs. 400 for vegetarian.
3) Food service will start at 8 PM sharp. Since it's a pre-plated multi-course meal, timing is everything and I absolutely need to have all the courses leaving the kitchen at the same time. If you turn up at say 9 PM, you will miss a course or two for sure, and that wouldn't be paisa vasool, would it? :)
4) If you non-vegetarians have any shrimp allergies, please let me know. If so, you probably need to switch to the vegetarian menu.
5) Last drinks order is at 11 PM.
6) Anyone who asks for chilli sauce to go with the food will be brutally hacked into pieces with my sharp cleaver and be made fodder for the numerous stray dogs in our city. :D
Other than that, everything is cool. :)
Hope to see you all on Sunday.

Madhu Menon | | I can't write a report 'cause I was busy shuttling back and forth from the kitchen. It was a miracle to pull off because we had a packed house for the regular a la carte as well.
So someone else will have to write about the food. :)
Did anyone take pictures?
