B G sreedhhar | | I have just joined this network,though i have heard of konkan railways,would like to know,from where to where does konkan area extend,which all districts and states does it cover?
What is special of konkan area?
Is it the seaside,beaches or the natural vegetation or the special cuisine of this area?
If someone here could clarify,would be delighted to know.

Konkan is area on the west coast from Mumbai to Goa. Its a stretch of 550 Kms of seashore.
Konkan has virgin beaches and unique lifestyle. I am in the process of building a portal for giving complete information on Konkan. Jayant Patwardhan | | THE...border of Gujrath till Trvandrum in kerala.But now it is up to Thalpady,northern border of Kerala.Basically where one speaks,talks in Konkani is KONKAN.
mr.Lele is right in his way,but The sahyaadri ranges & Konkan runs together,through MAH.,KAR.,GOA.,
but konkan from with districts Sindhudurg,Ratnagiri,Raigad,Thane are less known with many hidden shangrila formations,Tourism devlopment needs to be ECO,HERITAGE,SOCIO ECONOMIC DEVLOPMENT FRIENDLY,hope people like Mr. Lele could do it.
