For those who weren't there, it was a fantastic evening, with most singers being professional artistes, it felt like one of those stage performances. Three cheers to Niti and Baabul for conducting the whole evening beautifully, and ofcourse to Prashantji for obliging us with his soulful music. Thanks to Fufaji Lalit for taking time off his busy schedule to organize something like this on a professional scale - Musicians,sound settings, Video, food etc. etc...plus all those who helped him in taking care of the arrangements. Thank you Fufaji, thank you to the musicians, and most importantly...a VERY BIG thanks to all the Fufa Members for giving me one of the most memorable evenings I have ever had. It was rocking. I did not drink much...(Honest)...but yes...I was DRUNK...(again Honest). Guys...blame it on the music. 2 peg mein chad gaya! Lol. Anyway, I must specially thank a few members for this amazing experience. First and foremost, Fufaji! It was a Herculean effort. Let me be very honest about it. Though my name was there as one of the organizers, I did absolutely nothing in what you saw except for providing my space for the meetings which decided the meticulous plans for the Fufa Mehfil. All credit goes to Fufaji, Kshitij, Neeti, Babul, and the amazing team of Khoyalalji(the musicians). I was there as a normal Fufaite. Babul...you should seriously consider being a part time RJ. You were amazing. The way you and Neeti conducted the whole evening was nothing but BRILLIANT. Ten minutes into the show and RADIO FUFA topped all the other radio channels in my heart. And I was one crazy fan of RJ Babul and RJ Neeti. Kudos to both of you! Kshitij...yesterday I may have been over the moon(and as I said, you singers are responsible for that and not the booze), but I repeat my words in this temple of ours(FUFA)...you are in my next project. You are simply amazing. I for one, have seen how hard you have toiled to make this evening a success. Thanks Kshitij, for a lovely treat of music. Then the surprise packages...Nandita, Vipin, Ashish..that is the Fufa Members. Vipin, you are in love or what? :) The way you sang "Pal Pal Dil ke paas" was amazing. And Nandita, you were really good. Honest. Though the second song did not take off, thanks to the musicians...once you got the support of the Fufa members, you took off magnificently. And "Naa..jiya laage naa" was very nice. By and far, Ashish was the biggest surprise for me. When I suggested "Dayaghana", and he said ok, I felt I had landed him into trouble. I was feeling bad for it, cos the song is indeed a very difficult one. But the way he sang it...you made my day, Ashish. It was a difficult composition by Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, in Raag Puriya Dhanashri. And you sung it effortlessly. :) I would also like to thank Lahu and Hasan Sheikh Sahab, for coming to the mehfil on my request. Lahu is sitting in front of me right now...and he wants me to convey his heartfelt thanks to the FUFA network for this evening. Also thanks to Prashantji for making it to the event. But then, I am sure that by the end of the evening, he must have felt as enriched by the Fufa Spirit, as we all felt with his voice. As he said - "If this is what Fully Faltoo is, I wish the whole of India is filled with Fully Faltoo people." Let's say cheers to that! Cheers~ -Maddy. It was enjoyable right from the word go. From Classical to semi-classical, to light to comedy... all kind of songs were there. Kshitij, you are such a performer. It was a great experience listening to all the tracks you sand. Lahu, I like the song "Aaj Mausam Bada" better in your voice. (Rafi Saab ke fans mujhe maaf karein). Niti, you managed the task of being the RJ and the singer both very well. Nanditaji, ab aap ke baare mein kya kahein... aap to bas aap hain.. Too Good! Thanks Rhea, Sandeep, Ajay, Vipin for lightening up the evening with your soulful voices. Thanks to all those who cheered, enjoyed and dedicated their evening to music. The mehfil went on without the mikes and instruments after dinner too. Manpreet bhai, kya gaanaa yaad dilaa diya aapne. It was not a party or a mixer but a MEHFIL ! Party is a western concept. Mehfil is an Indian concept with Kings,queens and the royal ambience. This Mehfil had Indian seating....Drinks....and the participants felt like Kings or queens because of Great Ambience,Great Music and Drinks. Vibha came all the way from Pondichery and I really appreciate the effort she took to come back to Mumbai especially for the Mehfil. . . There was one common thing which was binding everyone last night, and that was everyones Passion for Music. Radio FuFa played on for non-stop 4 hours. It was a celebration of Music and we emphasised on Old hits from Bollywood. Our Hosts RJ Niti and RJ Babul took us through this journey. It was a platform created for all members who want to sing. Singers were - Kshitij Wagh Niti Wagh Ajay Lahoo Panchaal Sunil Ashish Belhalli Rhea M Dalal Dr. Nandita Iyer Vipin Aumugham Prashant I will ask all those who attended to give their honest opinions on the evening. Pehli shaam thi aur pehli koshish - to kuchch khaamiya thi, waada hai agli baar unhe zaroor sudhaarenge. Want more members to come forward next time and make this into a bigger event on Fufa Please give your feedback on the concept of this show which was experimented for the first time on FuFa. From the very moment I entered the FuFa mehfil I felt different.. I felt myself in the company of many elite people with smiling faces and such happy hearts. It was a lively experience.. a very different one for me... I had attended such a Mehfil for the first time with almost strangers who did not feel strange at all... It was lovavle and I will treasure such pleasant memories forever.. and will love to make more such memories... The FuFa anthem was a rocking one and captured the spirit of the gathering... and such soulful songs ... the oldies (some of which I have never even heard before)... were melodious straight down to the heart... And the real nasha was not the daru but the music which entered the heart... and made it jhoom barabar jhoom... I am poor with names, but Kshitij, Lahoo, Nandita, Prashant really were too good. Love you guys.. And there was someone who sang two songs some 62 years old.. I really loved them. Thanks to him for introducing to me to the melody of love in such pure form.. I reached there frm Pune to find some known and sum unknown folks as usual. Decided to get myself a drink even be4 deciding where to find suitable seating for me ( All who know me will agree how difficult it is to find such a big place) Initially wasnt very sure about my ability to hear soooo much of music at a go but got into the rhythm once i got in. Was shocked to see another Puneite there (Ashish) who kept on giving surprises one after the other. Last 1 of Dayaghana was masterpiece. I guess Ashish Focus on this rather than coding in JAVA, u ll do well. Met loads of old buddies and made sum new frnds as well. Fufa, Thnx a zillion for organising this event. Its amazing to see a community that is so well bonded & appreciates each other with whole heart. We MUST do many more such sessions. As a note of suggestion: I feel, Lalitji needs more hands especially to do the back end setup & design work. A few youngsters who have a knack for community work would be ideal. Would love hosting more such shows for only the similar love & appreciation. Can also value add to these shows by inviting a few celeb guests & scaling it up a bit. Special thanks to Lalitji for not only being the force behind organizing the FuFa Mehfil but also honouring me by his personal invite. Yes, I could see a good many natural talents. I have great appreciation for the great sense of presentation exhibited especially by Lahu, Kshitij, Nitee and Babul. Kshitij had the responsibility of the opening batsman, and he played long innings. He and Lahu had a good partnership in scoring centuries with their ek-se-badhkar-ek shots. I had been singing "Aaj mausam badaa beimaan hai" (even though it probably wasn't) all the way back to Pune. Prashantji added his thoughts on 'classical' music with apt demonstration. Nitee and Babul instantly popularized "Radio FuFa" among all the audience. The choice of songs by Nandita and Rhea was superb too! The old songs Ajay presented were unheard of, but I appreciated the lyrics. The audience was very lively, and I would say shared an equal partnership with the performers in creating the tempo of the mehfil. Thank you for your kind appreciations Maddy, Manpreet, Himanshu and all those who shared theirs with me on Saturday. I have been thinking what best I could do with the music that I have accummulated. I would appreciate any advice/ guidance in this respect. Neeti and Babul, thanks for accommodating me... I know you had a tough time fitting me into the programme as I did not remember complete lyrics of most Hindi songs (although Rafisaab is my favourite)! Next time I shall be more careful to give you more options. Lastly, the accompaniment was superb too. The way the tabalji supported my im-promptu "Dayaaghana" was pretty great! I became instantly comfortable. All in all, it was fantastic being there!
