Rick Cordero | | Seeing Boston be a part of another World Series again in such a short time undoubtedly shows that perserverance does pay off. This year looks promising with pitchers like Josh Becket, who will go at least two games in the series. Colorado is clearly a cinderella story and should be proud of what they have accomplished. When you look at the rigorous effort and dedication it takes to make it this far,you see a merge of teamwork and endurance. Notice that the big sports events such as the Series and the Super Bowl, allow the best of the best in marketing to compete as well. Coke will spend probably $1.5 million to for a 90 second ad, as Pepsi will most likely do the same. It is truly a meme based competition that is a win-win for everyone. We can all learn from this as a standing point that brings out the best of us as professionals. Understanding that discipline and hard work can produce fantastic results, we could view our endeavors as a playoff to the big show. Private Reply to Rick Cordero |

Terry Poster | | Great comments Rick. You are so right. If we treat our business affairs with the respect and focus they deserve, we will capture the edge that is needed to succeed. Boston is a good team, but I think the Rockies are still going to give them a series. I hope it goes 7, at least for dramtic effects and more great marketing. ;-) Take care,

Christy O'Connor | | I concur; If I may, the Rockies also have put far less money into their team then the Red Socks have; creating relationships in Latin America as well as other important alliances to get quality players for reasonable rates ... essentially out classing them on the business side of things echoing the ever enduring "buy low sell high" approach. It certainly takes money to make money but strategy and a passion for the game seems to have more value than just mathematical equations and investing in statistical data.
Don’t get me wrong I’m from MA and the Red Socks have my heart, but the Rockies are showing a nice slant to “return on investment”. They say everyone has a price … invest passion for the game, strategize, and stay ahead of the curve and you’ve got a pot of gold. It’s the same old game, but there is ALWAYS room for new players.
Is this just a flash in the pan for the Rockies or can they and teams like them continue to play with the big boys? After all 1 million dollar bonuses still did not allow the Yankees to succeed this year.

Rick Cordero | | Thanks Terry, It looks like the Sox have done it in 4 games...unbelievable. I trust that we can talk some concerning the correlation between sports an marketing. Take Care Private Reply to Rick Cordero |
