The Packers are having a dream season, but they have an obvious strong challenge coming this Thursday night in Dallas. This is the battle of the NFC at this point.
The Packers are going into this game a little banged up so this is certainly going to give Dallas the edge in my opinion. Even as a diehard Packer fan I am not sure if they would have enough to beat Dallas in Dallas if they were healthy. There offense can play with the best in the league, but as good as the Packer defense is, it will be awfully tough to stop Romo & all his weapons.
It should be a fun game to watch. It is unfortunate that some much of the country will not have this game available to them as it is on the NFL network. This is another issue that could be disscused.
Anyway, any thoughts?

Hi Terry,

I didn't realize until just now that I wouldn't be able to see the Dallas/Green Bay Game. I thought it would be on ESPN; bummer ... been looking forward to it. I guess I'll have to settle for the Steelers game.

I tend to agree with you; I think the Dallas Cowboys are the favorite in this match up, but I just can't count Brett Favre out. He's playing at the top of his game right now and it wouldn't be an 'upset' for me to see the veteran come out with the win. IF he mixes it up enough to keep the Cowboys defense searching for the proper defensive plays then he'll have something. After all Favre has a long career of experiences to pull from.

Andy Reid gave us a perfect example of that last night against the patriots with A.J Feeley; comming into the game prepared and ready to win ... not willing to just lie down and take the loss. The general consensus was that the New England Patriots were untouchable. Having to come from behind and winning by a close margin identified that the New England Patriots are, in fact, mortal and also laid down a blue print for a successful competition against the Belicheck regime. I can bet that game will be a study manual for games to come.

From a business point of view; I have two things I'd like to mention:

1. Further regarding the Pats/Philadelphia Eagles game last night and wondering if this will enter into the mind of the younger players in the Dalls/Packers game tonight: 'Never let them see you sweat' is a proverbial mainstay for any business endeavor. A.J Feeley lost the 'biggest game of his career' because he lost his composure thus making a couple of game changing mistakes when the pressure was on. In plain English, he buckled in my opinion handing over the victory. Conversely, Tom Brady did the exact opposite and brought his team out of the line of fire coming out with a win to move his team to 11-0. Seems Romo and Favre have pretty good verves, but what about the other players?

2. NFL network; there is a lot to be said about having an exclusive on a desirable product. I can't watch the football game we're talking about here and even though I probably won't buy the NFL network, their tactic is making me want to open up my wallet. Since I've dropped HBO I haven't seen any pro boxing matches, but I have seen plenty of UFC on Spike TV ... another example of having the exclusive on a desirable product and going head to head with a huge competitor like HBO sports. In my opinion, Spike TV and Dana White (President of UFC)is winning that battle.

I can't say it enough; competitive sports represent so much of what human beings used to survive; money being the main fuel of modern survival. Will one take the lessons learned in our every day competitions and apply them to the game of life or will he or she sit back and just keep score?

Hey Christy, a spin off the NFL network business thought. Indeed it is a good business venture to be an exclusive vendor, but also think about the Bars and taverns that have the NFL network that will lure in big business by taking advantage of this weeks 10-1 vs 10-1 match up.
I guess the main lesson here is, always keep your eyes and ears open for opportunity, for it is everywhere.
Another point you made about the experience factor when you mentioned AJ Feely's lapse last night, you have to fail before you can succeed, so if you miss an opportunity today, take note, and chalk it up as experience and make sure you don't le t the next one slip away.
Have a great one Christy,

Terry

I see your point and if I may ad, that A.J has been in the NFL for years unable to cement his position. As a third choice QB this was his opportunity.

Hey Christy, you are so right. AJ played well enough to perhaps gain some more playing time or catch the eye of another team who may be in search of a future backup, but his inability to close did not allow him to cement his position.
This is why we can never be satisfied with where we are in life. We must constantly be looking for ways to improve ourselves, to add more value to the market place. Perhaps AJ will get it someday. Have a great one,

Terry

Yes, I felt for him. I saw the look on his face, he was devistated; I could see that he understood his fate. Some of the things I feel so confident in while writing a post here and there are a lot easier said than done. When your back is up against the wall, you either have it or you don't. I completely agree with you; the errors I've made were tough to deal with at the time, but modivated me to get up, brush myself off and to succeed.

I appreciate your point of view and have really enjoyed reading your responses, thank you for the time you've spent. Next time I won't get so long winded ... LOL

As far as the Dallas/Packers Game ... may the best team win!

Long winded? No, great insights Christy. I have enjoyed the banter. Maybe we will have some more insights after the game. Talk to you soon,

Cowboys won!! Packers are a big rivalry with MN so I was for the cowboys. I did not like to see that Brett Favre was hurt though. He is a good guy and never want anyone hurt. His back up did Great! If Brett retires Green Bay has a good quarterback. If Mn keeps playing like they have last 2 games we have a shot at the wild card(go Vikings)!!!!(smile)

The Packers gave it their best shot with what they had. That's all any of us can do. Despite all their injuries they hung in there till the end. As a Packer fan, I would have loved to see them play a little better defensively, but I know it was not from lack of effort, but from lack of depth and talent on the defensive side. Maybe it will be a little different, if they get everyone healthy and meet the Cowboys again in the playoffs.
Your right Lou Ann, the bright spot of the game was the Packers learned that they have a guy at quarterback that can play once, Brett decides to hang it up. You always have to try and take a positive away with you, no matter what happens in life.
I wouldn't count Brett out for next week, he has been hurt much worse than this before and found a way to get out on the field. Heck 269 games in a row and counting. Heart is everything.
Great game, great lessons, good stuff.

Hi guys! I have a feeling the Pats will be meeting the Cowboys at the Superbowl. That would be fantastic! Do you agree?

I was able to catch the highlights of the game, it did look like a great competition.

I dont want New England only because Moss is a thorn in my side. He played in MN and was a JERK! Quote , I will play only when I feel like it, end quote. I feel sorry for New England

Yeah, some of these high maintanence players need laxitives...if you know what I mean, they get ridiculous salaries, all the press, their heads are all puffed up, Im suprised the fans don't throw pins at these guys...

All in all, New England will most likely humble him.
look what happened to Terrell Owens...Mr. All that and a bag of chips..too much dip on the brain..

I guess sometimes the fame gets to these guys. It's amazing to me how unappreciative some can be. For us being entrepreneurs we work so hard for so little some times; hard to grasp why he would ever say something like that, but I just can't hate the Pats even if there is a bad apple amongst the bunch ... This could be an important lesson about being a team player. As the old saying goes there is no 'I' in team.

How about Wess Welker? He's a great player. That guy is like a little bull dog.

Also I felt bad when I heard Sean Taylor died; one of my friends Love's the Red Skins. I'd be interested to see how that story unfolds ... scary

PS did you get my e-mail the other day about your new endeavor?

I sure did. I will call you first part of next week. I personally did some mkting and it is really taking off. If goes as it appears will do 2 to 3k next week from efforts this week and on and on. Their training that is free is fabulous even for someone like me that knows nothing about internet mkting. That is what it is designed for though.
