Hello! I wanted to reach out to you other facilitators and find out how your group prep is going! This is such a busy time of year that I'm also using this as a way to organize my own thoughts and plans. Please share any ideas you have--I'm anxious to hear how other people are doing!

Has anyone sent out their press releases/announcements yet? What, if any, other marketing opportunities are you using?

My PR and announcement are ready to be sent out tomorrow. I've identified several local newspapers and magazines that might be interested in running them. I'm also going to spread the word to a local entrepreneurs Meetup group and my other online networking sites. I also need to check and see if my B&N has listed my event in their Dec newsletter.

What are you doing to prepare yourself for your first group? Are you planning to bring anything extra with you?

I think I'm just going to re-read the information Suzanne emailed to us during the trainings and review my notes. Even though I'm already nervous, I'm planning to walk into my first group acting confident and on top of things (ha, we'll see!)

I think I might bring name tags--I'd like at least a fair shot of getting people's names right.

Any other thoughts?
Hope you all are doing well--happy December!

Hi Connie,

I have chosen the 3rd Saturday at Barnes and Noble Bookstore and the time is 1 pm to 2 pm with some mingle
and munch between 2 and 2:30.

The bookstore has a star bucks inside with an out door patio.

I have only been internet marketing the event and have not released any PR or contacted my city chambers of commerce.
It is on my list to do.
Holidays are really distracting and yet a great way to
reconnect with old warm market.

I have been double, triple booked since October.
Multitasking and have my 2008 planner open because
I have scheduling challenges.

Keeping it simple is key for me.
Same day- Same location- Same time.

Feel free to email or call me anytime
for some brain storming or here on ryze is
excellent too.

I'm still waiting to confirm my location at the local Chamber of Commerce. In a way, having the meeting at the Chamber makes me even more apprehensive than having it a Borders (my second choice - which I haven't explored yet). I almost feel like I'll be scrutinized at the Chamber. But . . . onward!

Corrina,

Things are going very well arranging my discussion groups. I currently have location scheduled at a local coffee house and am in the process of arranging for three (3) other discussion groups at local Borders Bookstores around the greater Cleveland, Ohio area. I am arranging them so that I have group on each side of city so that it is easy for people to engage in the group.

Once all groups have been scheduled I will be issuing my press releases to teh various media outlets. These outlets include all local newspapers, local business newspapers, local business periodicals, the local Chambers of Commerce (one which I am the President of the Board of Directors), various networking websites (Ryze, Linked-In, Plaxo, Meetup, etc.), The Entrepreneurs Club of America, and finally email blasts to my network contacts.

I have received great feedback an encouragement from the entrepreneurs to whom I have mentioned the discussion group. In fact, I had a number of people sign-up last night after a workshop that I gave on fear (what is it, what causes it, what does it give us, and finally how to move past it). This was extremely encouraging and reinforces the need for these types of support groups.

I hope all is going well with everyone else.

Hi Facilitator peers and Suzanne!

I love the chamber idea Karen...to have the meeting there....especially if you already know a lot of members at that chamber.
Each week you could cover 1 section like we had in our conference calls.

Hold it like a class for 8 straight weeks with q and a at the end.

Have light refreshments.
dunkin donuts and fruit platter or wraps from costco.
juice.

Cool idea??

Cool idea if I had the time for a weekly seminar . . . and the Chamber was willing to give up its room.

I'll have to contact them again . . . still haven't heard.

Paul,

You can most likely get Dunkin or Costco to donate the food, if you told them that you will mention them to the other Chamber members and the fact that the food was complimentary.

Okay - here's a question (or two) for you:

Has anyone written a press release or composed a flyer for the EtoE groups? Has anyone done any marketing and if so, what have you done?

Thanks for your help.

Suzanne is having a teleclass on the 27th for marketing the groups.

And that's what I'm interested in - what others have done so far.

Karen,

I modified the sample Event Press Release forwarded to us and utilized that for the local newspapers, business magazines, and posting to the locally focused websites and message boards. Unfortunately most of the posting need to be approved by a moderator first so there is a slight delay there.

Additionally, I have also sent out a blast email to roughly 300+ network contacts. I am requiring that individuals register for the group. This allows me to reach out for them and build rapport as well helping to ensure they do they are prepared for the first session.

I will keep you posted aas I have only just begun. I hope this helps.

Tim

Tim- that's a great idea to have folks register. That keeps them accountable to a certain degree.

Karen,
I sent a PR and event listing to the local paper and have emailed the group info to 7 different chambers of commerce and other business sites Suzanne referred us to. I've not heard back from anyone yet so I'm a little worried that the word isn't getting out the way I'd like. I guess I'll do some follow-up phone calls this week to check in. I'm also planning to let the local chapter of the entrepreneurs' Meetup group know about EtoE also.

Are people putting out fliers? If so, where?

I dont want a huge group.
I hope to start small...and keep the group intimate.
2-5 attendees is all I hope to have for now.
But, I am going to advertise it a bit on radio stations
PSA and and chamber events and community center bulletin boards.

Hi Suzanne and All,

The link that Rasheed provided, http://www.yourfreedomnowseminars.com/GrowingYourBusiness-ProsperityPrinciples2.htm, for the Houston seminar is not correct. It was just a draft.

The correct link - and the beautifully finished page is here...

http://www.yourfreedomnowseminars.com/GrowYourBusiness-ProsperityPrinciples.html

I regret that I needed to cancel my "Evening of Prosperity" workshop that evening. I am caught up in the launch of my Feel Free to Prosper program in Spanish here in Los Angeles - here is the webpage but the links to the event page will be live in one more day - http://www.feelfreetoprosper.com/libre-para-prosperar.html). This all started because the largest Spanish newspaper did a feature article on my in November and I was swamped with requests for my program en Espanol. :-)

I would love to meet you, Suzanne, along with the other speakers, but I will probably make my debut in Houston in February. I have two other bookings in Houston when I get there.

I know that the January 31st seminar will be wonderful - with Kathleen Jaap and Rasheed Hooda at the helm. I am proud that they are Feel Free to Prosper students and I am proud of them...period. They are following their hearts and success is assured.

Marilyn
