I would love some suggestions on this market I would love to target!! Being fluent in Spanish and from a Spanish background, it makes sense for me to target the Hispanic Community but how do I go about doing this??
I am working on brushing up on my technical terms in Spanish, since I am a doctor, I can use those terms, but only really use them in English. I am practicing so that they flow out of my mouth and I don't look or sound like a robot:-)
I would love to have a Spanish website to promote my products and hope to have that accomplished in the coming year...but how do I target the Hispanic community??
Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance, Dr. Daisy

I think targeting the Hispanic community is a great idea especially since you are Latina as well. Having info in Spanish and info on your website in Spanish that they can access will help them get the facts they will need but they will likely do more business with you based on your personality so use that asset and generate your clients who will in turn introduce you to their friends and family (yup, more clients!) Hope this helps!

Dr. Daisy,
I think I can help you as I am doing that very thing right now...
I posted earlier to you on another network about the new launch of my program in Spanish. I highly recommended the translator, Marta, who I found on this network. In case you haven't seen it: http://www.ryze.com/postdisplay.php?confid=1654&messageid=2924560. It's very important that you use a form of Spanish that has a universal appeal and addresses all Spanish speakers from different geographical areas. She is highly educated and I'm sure she can help you with your medical and technical translations. She does the copywriting for many nutritional sites.
You might also review my posts below on this network.
Now, back to marketing...
That is exactly what I am in the process of doing now. The sites were completed two days ago, so I knew that I would need to get the word out into the community. My upcoming event is local but will be national and I will also be providing audio programs for sale on the Internet in the near future. So my quest is the same as yours - addressing the global Spanish speaking market.
The feature article about me last month in "La Opinion" opened this door for me and was a great start. I am not a Latina and I don't speak Spanish (yet) but I received an extremely warm welcome into the community. I have always found Latinos to be warm and generous. And as stated, you have the advantage of being a part of that culture. But when the article about me ran, I received a great many responses from readers requesting my program in Spanish. Many have already signed up for the event, even as couples.
1. So here are my suggestions. Contact the Spanish publications and see if they will do an article on you. That's a major marketing tool. Some editorial on the benefits of healthy chocolate would get things going for you, I'm sure. It should be really good editorial on the chocolate but highlighting you as the expert for the company. The fact that you are a doctor gives you great credibility for a product like this. I called a national magazine for Latina Business Women and spoke with the editor. She asked me to send my information for a possible feature story in February or March. So get on the phone and contact media. I have found the Latin media to be much more accessible than the English one.
2. Then...I went to the Craigslist site here in Los Angeles. Just two days ago I found a young Hispanic man, just 21 years old, married with two children, who made $340,000 last year in his own loan company. But he took a break from the business and decided that he does not want to continue in that industry. He is looking for something more fulfilling and meaningful. Amazing values for that age! So now he has committed to helping me promote Feel Free to Prosper to the Hispanic community. He has tons of personal and business contacts and tomorrow he is doing an email blast and getting flyers to his CPA and others who have Spanish clientele. All this from a simple post I saw on Craigslist. And please note that Craigslist is only in English. But if you go the Craigslist in a city that has a large Latino population, you may find gold as I did.
3. I also posted my own short ad on Craigslist, asking for Hispanic/Latinos who have a lot of friends, family or business contacts in the Latino community who can help me spread the word about my program. And of course I will offer compensation.
I have already had three responses and will contact them tomorrow.
4. I did some research and was referred to the Latin Business Assocation and other Hispanic Networking Groups that have chapters in multiple cities and states. I intend to pursue these for long term exposure. The fact that you are Spanish can give you an edge for this.
This is just a start. There are many more ideas that have been suggested to me. For instance, get a business to sponsor your product. You give them exposure and they promote your product.
Ultimately, as relating to my prosperity teachings, the real marketing tool is your mindset. Learn to use the prosperity principles and mental laws and the doors will open spontaneously and naturally. Your words and thoughts have tremendous power to attract to you exactly what you want. And it will trigger your intuition to guide you to do exactly what needs to be done to create results - and success.

The Hispanic community is diversed within itself. Perhaps you should target a specific group within that population. It should include geographic area, age, gender, and a topic that will address their needs and interest. Also you should keep in mind that many "hispanos" preffer to read in Spanish rather than English even when they master the English language. Perhaps a bilingual website, Spanish/English, could be the solution. Hope this helps. Hola Lydia,
I thought I would stop in and share.
I am not a Latina, but I have been guided beautifully to do exactly what you recommend, as you can tell if you read my previous post - I don't know if you realize that the posts above from Dr. Daisy and myself were from almost a year ago.
I was encouraged by the feature story about me in La Opinión to "seize the day" (carpe diem!) and answer the call from the Hispanic market. They reached out to me and I listened and followed my guidance.
The translator I found on this network, Marta, did a beautiful job of creating the Spanish section of my website and translating my prosperity program into Spanish (and I have many compliments on the quality of the translations). I intend to include her in the prosperity that results from her efforts.
So this past year, in between taking care of my usual business, this was done:
Spanish section of my website: http://www.feelfreetoprosper.com/libre-para-prosperar.html
Self Study Version of Feel Free to Prosper: http://www.feelfreetoprosper.com/prosperidad-programa.html
I met a local PR woman here in Los Angeles who recently recorded the audio for the prosperity program above. I even introduce her in the audio welcome message on that page with a minute or so of Spanish. She gave me the text to read and record but said I did a good job speaking Spanish for the first time :-) She has a beautiful voice and completed the welcome message and then recorded the actual audio for the program to go along with the lessons.
And just this week, new "vibrations" arrived with an invitation to follow through to the Hispanic market:
A business coach who heard me interviewed last month on a call contacted me and invited me for a joint venture. On October 28, I will conduct my first Spanish teleclass - Ali Rodriguez will translate for me right on the call. I have almost completed the announcement/sales page. You can see it here:
http://www.feelfreetoprosper.com/prosperidad-programa-teleclase.html
I'm very excited about this opportunity. Ali is very well connected to the Hispanic market as a bilingual coach, and the two of us are very much in sync in values, personality, and beliefs.
I am honored that as a non-Latina I have manifested these open doors to a very important market.
Interesting synchronicity that your name is Rodriguez, Ali is also Rodriguez and my best male friend of many years is Michael Rodriguez. I am surrounded by Rodriguez!
What my journey proves, in my opinion, is that if we have something of value to share with the world, there is no limitation to reach out to the world unless we impose our own limits. If we open our minds to touch others - doors magically open and barriers disappear.
When the readers from the newspaper article ordered my program and sent me testimonials of their results this past year, it was a magical moment for me - to think that my teachings, my thoughts had reached beyond the language barrier without losing their meaning was more rewarding to me than I can express.

My last time at ryze was in 2005. So, I am behind with my email. Yes, the hispanic population is very kind and likes to welcome those from other cultures and race as long that the do not become judgemental. Rodriguez is a very comon first and last name. Is like Smith in the English language. The Hispanic market you'll find covers a large geographical area even that in portuguese and italian. I wish you good luck! Take care.
