I have a blog but I don't post as often as I should. I'm just not a writer. I was doing a story line called Harry the PI but now I'm stumped as to what can happen next hence no Harry the PI post since November. Whenever I feel the urge or something gives me an idea to write about, then I start writing again. I can come up with some good ideas but I just don't know how to get them from my head onto the screen where people would actually want to read about it. I have a blog - I post about once a week on some thing or other that I've noticed in business lately. I must confess though, I am an indifferent blogger, and pretty casual about it. Need to do some serious promotion of it, and a revision on it so that it promotes my other endeavors better. This blog is where I can absolutely be me. So titled it appropriately! I guess no better time then the present in order to join the square dance...
I have not set up a Blog Site yet but will do so within the next month...
One thing that you have to remember when starting and updating your Blog is its purpose... Are you using it as a daily update to what I did that day? Or, are you using it in order to provide your readers with valuable content about your area of concern... No matter what it is, you have to make sure you know its purpose...
For me and from what I have been learning, is that your Blog or your Blog Entries on any site can be a great way to get FREE Leads and Marketing... Correct me if I am wrong, your Blog can help you by linking key words to your web site and raising your site's value in the search engines, which is key if you are trying to pull customers that do not know you exist... I too may be merging SEO stuff with Blogging there as well...
Anywhooo... Make sure you know and list the purpose of your Blog before placing it out there for others... You don't want your professional Blog to be cluttered with unfounded rants of off topic subjects... Also, you don't want your Blog to be an account of your daily routine as well...

Bobbi Jo Woods | | I really need to get started on a business blog. I used to run blogs all the time in the past, as well as having my own.
However, I have been discouraged by having a "company blog" because of the recent abuse of blogs by people I'll call "Throwup Artists". These guys and their ilk are the ones who get numerous Google AdSense and other advertising accounts and promptly "throw up" sites full of practically nothing of value, recycled content and bloated chunks of keyword-addled hype which I also call "throwup" (hence the name).
I can't count how many times I've gone to Google to get something looked up only to find several results leading me to these kinds of sites/blogs. It's very discouraging and makes me not want to do the blog thing.
But I also am very aware that original content, quality writing and lending my own style and voice to little bits here and there will help me be more credible online, allow me to maximize the promoting of my company site and give me a whole new audience. So I must take the time to do this! I just haven't gotten around to "getting around" to it :(

It looks like a good start!
Can I make a couple of suggestions? Feel free to ignore them if you already have them on your "to-do" list...
I would take the name "Life Opportunities, LLC Weblog" and change it to something that more or less reflects how you are trying to help by providing your products. How about, "Breathe easier, live cleaner, love life" ?
I'm just thinking in terms of what you offer and how it helps folks. The 'love life' part I put in because I thought of how 'life' is a big part of your current name/brand.
Also I would suggest coming up with a tagline to replace the "Just another Wordpress.com blog". You could extend the blog's title here if you decide to, or use the tagline you currently use. This can be edited in your dashboard, under where it says "Blog description or tagline".
Then, I like how you are driving the reader to some sort of action, at the end of your post and also in your 'PS' area. But is there a way you could alternatively link to those sites? What about making the actual words, "learn how I can help you obtain your dreams and reach those goals you established when you started your business or opportunity" be the link, so that no one sees the affiliation URL? Just thought that if that were more direct vs. "Click here" or
"Visit: http://blah-blah blah.com" which people tend to respond less to, for some reason.
Otherwise it looks awesome! Let us know how it goes for you.
PS - I am very used to Wordpress, having set up many blogs with it myself (albeit not using a wordpress.com account, but sites at a .com domain and then installing Wordpress on that .com's server, but I think they are one and the same in terms of how they work), so feel free to PM me if you ever get stuck on it or need tips, etc.

I will definitely include HYPE-Links due to people not liking the affiliate links....
It is my intent to post something every three days, if possible. Each post will be about something different, i.e., the purification technology, business development and opportunities... I have more then enough content and will have to manage my time appropriately...
I just found out that friends of mine placed an Ad in the Upperville Horse Show Program Guide, which is the biggest and oldest Horse Show on the East Coast... So, I am hoping that this will drive some traffic to my site.... I just need to be able to convert... Hell, Reg did a great job producing and image of my thoughts... Now, I just have to compell them to buy...LOL...

the Content is not spam, and does not contain unethical or unwanted commercial content designed to drive traffic to third party sites or boost the search engine rankings of third party sites, or to further unlawful acts (such as phishing) or mislead recipients as to the source of the material (such as spoofing);
Everything I have read tells me that this is what a Blog Site is for... Go figure....

Here's an idea we use.
A. Establish your "brand' whether http://BrianRupp.com or http://www.lifesopportunitiesllc.com and create a directory called /Blog. Now your blog address would be Http://BrianRupp.com/Blog
B. Insert redirect code into the index.html file and point it to your new blog.
Now if there any hiccups with your blog hosting; You can retain your blog url and switch suppliers without disturbing your subscribers.

Thanks for the info Teddy... I am going to stick with Life's Opportunities for everything... I already own 5 other domains that redirect to this one already... Plus, I want to keep the focus on one name for my customers or people needing help... Actually, I just hate the fact that I will have to manage redirecting everything. Right now, Reg takes care of that for me...

Blake Raab | | Thanks, Mitch. That page probably helps me out more than it helps anyone else. When you have so many sites to track, it takes up less space on your bookmarks list to just have one page. It's also nice in forum signatures to only have one link.
