Balasubramanian | | The purpose of this query is to create a composite real-life story of different people's experiences in balancing their spiritual and routine living practices.
Your responses will be shared, with your permission, with the readers of the publication 'Life Positive' [please see www.lifepositive.net].
The following are added detail questions that can help you frame your response. Usually, those who are in touch with their spiritual side find different ways to continually integrate it into everyday living.
1. Did you start off with some process (yoga, reiki, pranic healing, art of living, ayurveda, naturopathy, meditation etc)? If so what path did you evolve for yourself?
2. What has been your approach to this integration of the spiritual and the practical side of life (professional / service / business) ?
3. Did it involve taking more responsibility and/or making important lifestyle shifts or adding disciplines? (eg. eating less and lighter, sleeping early, turning vegetarian, introducing some form of exercise into your life)
4. Do you periodically take a break and go for healing retreats?
5. From your experience, what are your well-being and general fitness insights?
6. How do you cope with stress?
7. What has been your general healing journey after getting on the path?
Thank you for taking the time and interest to respond. Please let me know if it is all right to include your name in this story and to include your answers in the 'Life Positive' feature.
Best Regards

Firstly welcome to the forum and thanks for such a great question. In my case, my journey down the spiritual path was a case of what a friend recently called "forced life change".
I was running a technology licensing agency and a major client relationship went sour, was heading to court, and I couldn't figure out how or why this was happening. That started my inward enquiry and within months I was channeling information from my Higher Self.
The information was about who I really am and how I relate to everyone and everything else. A typical day would start with some kind of problem, usually some minor health inconvenience, and I would need to figure out what my HS wanted me to know before the symptoms would go away.
Eventually I realized that this information wasn't just for my benefit, so I started documenting it and co-created a new healing system called Soul Powered Healing (see www.soulpoweredhealing.com). SPH is a manual for higher consciousness which shares the most important insights I was given over a 3 year period or so, including the various kinds of negative energy that human beings have created through misunderstanding who we really are.
One of its main purposes, however, is to show people how to connect with their Higher Selves, the best "Life Coach" they can have. Out of SPH came our business, Life Energy Coaching, and another healing system, Life Energy Management. LEM is designed for those who are not yet spiritually awakened, but who can understand the concept of themselves as energy.
Coming back to your questions, in my view the most important truth to understand is that we are totally responsible for the life we have created. Our past intentions and resulting feelings, acted on by the Universal Law of Attraction have put where we are today. So, my answers to your questions are:
1. My Soul led me into the above process. However, I needed to be open to taking responsibility for my results.
2. It's very important to be following your Soul's Calling. When you're doing that, work is fun, indeed you view your "work" as all that you're here to do, which includes one's marriage, parenting, friendships, etc., as well as what you get paid for. In my case, I changed my profession to coaching others about how to use self-awareness to align with and live their dreams.
3. Yes, it definitely took taking responsibility for the results of my past intentions. I added 20 minutes of meditation morning and evening, which keeps me in tune with my Soul's Calling. It also transmutes negative energies that surface from sleeptime and during the day. I also started attending a local gym as my self-respect grew, and I started to value my body more as an important vehicle for fulfilling my calling.
4. It's important that life be fun, as forgetting this leads to a build-up of resistance in one's energy field. My wife and I love what we do for a living, but also enjoy time on our own, together as a couple, as a family with our boys, and with friends. It's all about balance. We observe that a lot of people in the healing arts give their love to everyone else ahead of themselves. As there's 6.5 billion other human beings on the planet, they never get around to loving themselves, and can burn out well before that. We've found that it's important to love our Selves first, an important part of which is our work calling, but we must first keep our selves strong with regular breaks to freshen up mentally. This can be regular long weekends, and also the occasional 2-3 weeks vacation. I'm from New Zealand, which we like to get to every year.
5. Take responsibility for your results. All of our physical, relationship, and financial problems have been created by our past thinking. Go to work on that, and you will find the "miracle cures" you are looking for.
6. Stress is the "energetic exhaust" of negative emotions and limiting beliefs. I rarely feel stress these days because I have examined my belief system thoroughly, discovered who I really am, and understood the nature of this game we call life. When you understand the purpose of life, you see it is just a game and meant to be fun. Until you get there though, I recommend using Life Energy Management (see www.lifeenergycoaching.com) or Soul Powered Healing, which are huge accelerators to Inner Peace, including a practice of daily meditation.
7. Once you connect to your Higher Self and are alert to its promptings, you will find that every day is another fascinating journey within the larger journey of your life masterpiece. Everyone is unique, and mine is described above, at least until now.
With love and light,
Murray Ansell www.lifeenergycoaching.com
