I have removed the advertisements that did not follow network guidelines by being contained in the ADV thread established for that weekend. I've been pretty tollerant the last few weeks, but this continues to be an issue, so I can see a stronger stance is necessary. There are a few simple rules regarding advertisements....

1. Only on the weekend
2. ADV in the subject
3. ONLY IN THE ADV THREAD
4. You must be an ACTIVE member of the network (2 non-ad posts) for the past week.

Most generally we do a pretty good job of sticking with 1 and 2. Number 3 gets really dicey and I hate to say it, but it appears I may need to start monitoring #4 instead of allowing self-monitoring. If you aren't willing to come into the network and create relationships by posting outside of advertisement days, then don't waste our time.

Those of you that know me at all know I hate to be this harsh, but it's also my job to enforce the established rules here on the network.

By the way...thanks to those of you that do follow the guidelines and have turned this into a network talked about on many other MLM sites throughout the internet!

Make it a great day!

It is unfortunate Chris .... but obviously necessary.

Take it from someone who knows how hard your job is (I'm Admin for a Forum with 10,000 members) .... you run a GREAT network here!

Listen to Chris's advice folks. Follow the rules and everything will be hunky dory. Don't follow them and you're making it harder on everyone AND you!

Believe me ..... those who don't do things the right way are noticed. The real result you'll get is hurting your repuation. That's death for your business.

OK, question

If I have 2 network marketing businesses (actually I have 3, but who's counting)
should I make sure I have posted at least 4 times to advertise both of them...assuming all 4 posts are relevant and useful

I'd say go ahead and advertise as long as you are contributing to the network. If the ADV gets too out of hand we'll start limiting and cutting back. I have to admit that when we started the network, we considered not having any advertising at all. As long as it is kept within the rules and things don't get too out of hand, we'll be ok.

Make it a great day!

Chris,
Yesterday I had a Great time "Critiquing" other's Web Sites but the whole idea was to get evryone visiting someone else Site and commenting on what they saw there. A few people did visit a few Web Sites and a couple were surprised at mine. As simeone pointed out on another thread, you may not need what they are offering right now, you will hve an understanding of what the next person is all about. This is what Networking is all about.

Maybe we could "pin" this thread so it stays at the top of the network ... and folks won't miss the rules?

I agree that those who post should do so according to the guidelines of the network. Unfortunatley this is what can make MLMers look bad. I feel for you.It has been a while since I posted here. My wife went in the hospital with the influenza but is doing better now.MLM is a big industry and if you take a look at most industry there is a sense of multi-level in every company. You start at the bottom and work up. Same concept as in MLM but the difference is that you can build your own organization with out limit.

Attention:
Advertising posts that do not follow the network rules will be removed. If a member voilates the rules repeatedly, they will be removed from the network. I hate to take such a hard stance, but we've worked hard to keep the advertisements under control on this network, and personally I feel that has been a major factor in the huge success of the network. Therefore, I can't back off now.

Make it a great day!

Hi Chris:

I moderate a busy ryze network - "*Real Women - Real Success" with about 1,300 members. We have free ad day on Tuesdays. I also ask them to not only put "ADV" in the subject line - but also put an enticing headline. Why? Because it shows up in the inboxes of most of the members and it's the subject line that determines if they're going to open it up or not.

The rule I tend to have problems with is #3. Put the ad in the ad day thread ONLY. There are always a few who just won't post in the correct ad day thread.

It's pretty simple. They silently disappear.

Yes...that is what I've started to do here. First time I often reply with a copy of the network rules, but from then on it just disappears. Good idea. I usually try and encourage a good subject (just keep the ADV). As usual...great ideas Denise! Keeping them in the ADV thread has been a common issue here as well.

Make it a great day!

Hello Chris and Members.

We do not offer the allowance of any ads on my ryze
network for this very reason. I started out that way and
have kept is without adverisments of any kind.

Having said that we encourage talk about our businesses.
Anyone is welcome to ask for critques, talk about their own
business without it being an ad, per se.

The criteria:
• There must a question or bid for help of some kind in the post.
• There must be an invitation to conversation on any given subject.
• All articles are welcome and encouraged.
• Articles are accepable if they are of interest to the membership as a whole.
• Articles are welcome if they concentrate on a single task or on multi-tasking subjects.
• Friendly banter of any kind is acceptable.

We even allow flirting and chucking paper clips at each
other. I mean, why not? LOL.

I just signed on to this network today. Not so I could ever
place an ad but because I saw a post by Chris at another
network - checked his ryze page and saw that he had an
active network.

This is what networking should be about - meeting people in
a somewhat social setting without preconcieved notions
regarding "what is in it for me?" If you are interested in
your own business beyond selfish-ness you will bode much
better in the networking for business arena.

.02 and OH!-pinion.

Hi Chris:

I was away from ryze for almost a week due to a combination of a crashed hard drive on my laptop and going out of town for the Easter weekend.

The free ad day on my network is Tuesdays and sure enough some sneaky members posted ads that were not in the ad day thread which is started by another member (not me) religiously first thing every Tuesday morning. It really chaps my hide when I got back to my network Thursday and their were free ads all over.

And I have the rules stated very clearly on the network home page, on the posting guidelines and in the Tuesday free ad day thread. I'm just saying this because some people think if the moderator is away they'll get away with it. They don't realize how stupid they look by not following the rules of the road.

I delete those posts the minute I see them.

And my post yesterday re-stating the rules yet AGAIN was not gentle or nice.

Hey, if we're supposed to be business people - let's act like it.

Chris, I apologize if I haven't been around lately. I just launched a new business two weeks ago and it's been a crazy (but very good) time - in addition to the hard drive crash, etc.

all the best,

Denise-
Don't feel bad at all. I haven't been around much this week truth be known. My youngest son looked at me today like "who is that guy?" Ok...perhaps not that bad, but my kids have seen very little of me this week.

I've noticed the spamming (ad placing outside network rules) appears to go in waves. I've also noticed when our network here gets hit, other networks usually are getting hit too (often by the same people). You are correct in that these people just don't realize how bad they are tarnishing their own name. When it all boils down to it, do any of us really have much else but our reputations?

Make it a great day!

Well put Chris,

My Dad used to tell me all the time growing up..

"Boy... at the end of the day, no matter what (Insert your favorite term) flew around... all you have is your Integrity, and you are the one that has to live with it".

He was a hard ole Jar-Head.. hated him until i pulled my head ... back into daylight... think i may have got the sunshine sooner if I had talked less and listened more :-)

Hi, Chris,

I'm so new to Ryze and your network that I don't think I've posted an ad here, even on the weekend, but thanks for the "heads up"! I'm still learning all of the rules.

I'm so excited that this site and networks are so active.
