Just another Surf Site? | # | Kathleen Egan | | The founders of ts25 have felt it necessary to start a new Traffic Exchange called Traffic Era. They sent emails to all the current members of ts25 inviting them to an exciting opening of Traffic Era and en masse the groups moved over to the new site.
The benefits of the new exchange allow the members to communicate via email and IM. To join Teams that compete in groups of 25. The game is hunting clocks. The benefits are reaching the goal number of clocks the team wins a portion of the credit pot, divied out from 1st place to 4th by a percentage.
The other benefit of the site allows members to use tokens, won through your personal value for surfing that week or when locating clocks and receiving 5 tokens minimum after finding 10 clocks. Tokens are used to purchase credits or surfing reward increases, and a higher rate to a per click credit value.
Members are allowed to start discussion groups... but so far they have become nothing more than the usual "link exchange" items and basically are a waste of bandwidth. The Groups are shown in random order..are unsearcheable.. and a pain in the neck. As is finding your rank in the Members surfing results area.. Not like ts25 where you click.. show me where I'm placing.. this is a hunt through the members list.. pain in the neck again! And while I'm mentioning problems.. the splash pages show a persons advertising a millisecond then flip to the Traffic Era page.. so surfing and seeing your 'mother' site over and over again is a real bore.
The top dog members who have shelled out cash to belong once again monopolize the advertising. Key to this is and was Stefan Berg.. who's huge amounts of credits has allowed him to show his product .. 'his face' on just about every other page! Anyway the site has tried to clean this problem up and more of the little guys ads are being shown.
Now to teams.. I joined a Team and we had under our alotement of 25 members but we as dedicated surfers where winning one Clock Jackpot after the other.. very exciting when the team gets together and surfs their butts off to come from behind as much as over 100 clocks to win.
I must say at the moment I am in suspension fom the site and my team mates and I are communicating with management.. yes guilty of the charge (I used a site they objected to.. but it was in retalliation to the Berg situation and some very suggestive sites that have been shown since day one) I may or may not be re-instated..the only true thing I will miss if not will be the surfing team I belong to.. and the friendships we developed in a very short time.
The drawbacks to belonging to a team on Traffic Era are the quotas to be surfed set by the Team Leaders.. The required clicks which can be astronomical.. meaning huge amounts of your time will be spent surfing Traffic Era.. so do not join a Team unless you have the time to devote.. it is just not fair to your Team Mates who are working so hard and splitting the winnings evenly to give them away to a slacker team member... and will eventually cause great friction on the site.
So Until.. the site owners get a few bugs worked out (especially the human ones) Traffic Era is a guess in the making. Time will tell..
Join Free! Earn Credits for Free! But I'd save my hard earned money until I really see results from the showings of your advertising... The contests alone drawn so much attention from the viewing of the advertised page I see this site as being not very responsive to your advertising costs. But it is worth joining...afterall... it's just another surf site...
