I have been beading since I was little, but the business part started for me in 1988. If I can help you with any questions you may have about beads or beading, post your questions and I'll be happy to share whatever I know.

Although I have been beading since last summer I had not
even thought about beading as a business. I have several
successful businesses online and support a handicapped
veteran with these endeavors.
Have been a crafty person since I was a Girl Scout (from
1957 on!) and for six years taught Creative Circle classes.
This during a time when my daughter was born and I quit
working outside the home to raise her - up to school age.
That was my first "working from home" experience (1980 -
1985-ish)and luckily I was able to return to that mode
within a years.
As to beading, a friend got me started making jewelry.
Well, eyeglass holders, I will post some pics later. When
Russ and I went to the eye doctor he noticed my eyeglass
holder necklace. Liked it very much and asked me if I had
any to sell? He had stopped selling those in his practice
as all he could find where very cheap (made in uh,
elsewhere) and not a quality he would want to offer to his
clients. Thereby - A new business has been born. I have
been beading some evenings and on weekends to get the first
100 worked up to display at his office for his patients.
I have no idea where this is leading me, possibly nowhere
except for having extra money to buy more beads or
crafty "stuff." LOL. We are working on a consignment basis
with his portion being 20% of total sale cost. Is this
normal? Some years ago, I sold cross stitch broaches on a
consignment basis from a gift shop and they kept 40% so 20%
did not sound bad to me at all. I simply have no clue on
this.
So it appears that something I truly enjoy may begin paying
for itself sometime soon. That's a pretty good feeling
too. :D
How I met Ingrid: Here on ryze of course! LOL. I'm not
sure if she joined my network first OR if I found her page
first (CRS) but we hit it off. You know how that works -
we chatted, chatted some more and WhoAAAhh! We clicked.
OH - One more note - I am sponsoring one of Ingrid's panels
on the Neverending Necklace! I am so thrilled about this,
