John Dilbeck | | I tend to use Squidoo lenses the same as I would any website, even though it is just one page in size.
Lately, I've been thinking about building lenses in groups, as if they were separate pages on a single website.
The only real difference would be to build a custom table of contents that linked to the various pages in the group.
In that way, I think of a lens as being similar to a website, but not really social networking - even though people can join my fan club, comment on my pages, favorite it, and do other things that are similar to what we think of as social networking.
With the new Twitter module, we can syndicate our tweets and gain more followers.
With the RSS feed module, it is simple to syndicate the feeds from any of our social networking sites that produce RSS, XML, or Atom feeds.
So, with a little work, our Squidoo lenses can become more like social networking and can even help us get more visitors to our various social networking sites.
More and more, I'm thinking of Squidoo less as just a website-builder and more of a networking facilitator.
One example is my lensography. As time goes by, in addition to linking to my other lenses, I'm adding more about my other social networking activities. You can see it here:

What do you think?
Is Squidoo part of your social networking?
