Greetings All

Here is a message about who we are and what we hope to accomplish as advocates for the victims of toxic mold illness. It took 50 years of total dedication by the autism advocacy to get the truth about vaccines out. The fewer years it takes to get this message out, the more lives will be saved. It is accurately estimated that approxamately a half a million people die every year from mold related illnesses. I consider this a worthy cause, not just because I am mold sick but because I truly care about other people and future generations. Please join our cause and help us spread the truth about mold illness and a message of hope to those who are suffering.

YOU ARE INVITED TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL INDOOR MOLD AWARENESS MONTH (SEPT. 5-OCT.5, 2008)

Dear Distinguished Family of the Toxic Mold Community,

For the past several weeks, the National Indoor Mold Society has spearheaded putting together a coalition of organizations and individuals suffering from toxic mold exposure to expose the truth about this environmental disease. They are Sharon Pawlak (TN Toxic Mold State Rep) of www.moldmadness.com, Iris Brooks (GA. Toxic Mold State Rep) of www.myspace.com/faceoftoxicmold and Lori Tondini (IL Toxic Mold State Rep), a former school administrative assistant and we formed the National Indoor Toxic Mold Planning Committee.

As a concerned citizen of this country and a person exposed to indoor toxic mold, (diagnoses: sick building syndrome (5 physicians (2003-2005), Dr. Shoemaker (2005) chronic, biotoxin-mediated illness, Dr. Croft (2006) trichothecene (late stage 2, early stage 3) through pathology which back-up the science, Dr. Kilburn (2008) 10 neurological abnormalities due to molds/mycotoxins and tested positive for alfatoxins and ochratoxins in my blood by Real-time labs (2008), it is a blessing that I am still ALIVE!

I welcome you to join us in celebrating National Indoor Toxic Mold Month (September 5-October 5, 2008). Get involved and help spread the word! We need your support. Please read the rest of the email and help us make this endeavor a success. Please send this email to your family, friends, co-workers (former/present), or other toxic mold survivors. I would love to talk to you.
Please contact me via email or at the NIMS phone number 609-403-2046 or you can send me an email and let me know what is the best time to call (with your time zone).

WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE COMMON GOAL:
The National Indoor Toxic Mold Toxic Planning Committee has prepared for publication the first Toxic Mold Proclamation observing the upcoming National Indoor Toxic Mold Awareness Month, September 5 to October 5, 2008. We were aware that in 2004, a group of organizations, doctors, and mold advocates assembled for 1 week in September for the 1stNational Mold Awareness Week. We have prepared a draft National Indoor Toxic Mold Month Proclamation. We want to make a significant impact on increasing mold research and dispelling myths that exposure to toxic mold can not make you ill. We want to give a voice to the voiceless, which we can only do by partnering together in order to create one voice. Let's Break the Mold together! We hope that you will join us in supporting this massive endeavor. Together our voices will be heard as we work to bring toxic mold exposure as a health care epidemic. We invite all organizations (related to toxic mold exposure/indoor environment/indoor air quality/illnesses caused by toxic mold exposure i.e. autism, toxic encephalopathy), environmental/mold specialists doctors, physicians, (some have already committed to this effort), businesses (real estate/mold remediation/law firms), clubs, schools, churches, groups, and individuals suffering due to toxic mold exposure to join us in this event.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP MAKE THIS EVENT BE A SUCCESS?

1. Become an Indoor ToxicMoldState Proclamation Representative:

We have commitments from several individuals in 15 states, as well as, one International Representative. The Indoor Toxic Mold State Proclamation Representative can be an individual, business, doctor or organization.

As an Indoor Toxic Mold State Representatives, you will be responsible for obtaining a signed proclamation from your Governor and working to develop an event in your state. The governor probably will not sign the proclamation unless an event is taking place in his/her state. In order to help those who want to obtain a signed proclamation from their Governor, we are putting together a complete, easy-to-follow guide, which outline the steps to get the National Indoor Toxic Mold Month Proclamation signed. We hope to have as many of the states participate for the 1st National Indoor Toxic Mold Month.

The Indoor Toxic Mold State Representatives will be sent the Proclamation Package, which contains the Proclamation, Fact Sheet, and other supporting documentation.

2. Write Letters to Be Part of the Proclamation Supporting Documentation:

We need letters of support from organizations, environmental doctors, businesses, and individuals affected from toxic mold exposure to be sent to your legislators and to the Governor emphasizing how this proclamation will have a positive impact on the overall community.

3. PROPOSED EVENTS/ SPEAKERS/SPONSORS:

You can host an Indoor Toxic Mold Symposium bringing in mold expert(s), i.e. Environment Doctors/Mold Remediators/Toxic Mold Attorneys to speak at your event. You can have it at your church, club, library, or school. You can set-up a booth at a local community event or health fair. Please take pictures/videotape your event so that we can post them on the websites.

NIMS will be hosting the National Indoor Mold Society Internet Talk Show on Saturdays evenings starting on Saturday, September 6, 2008 -October 4, 2008 (up to Nov. 1, 2008). We can do these shows live in various locations across the country. This could be done for 4 states. The shows will be held on Saturdays evenings starting September 6 through November 1, 2008 from 8:00 P.M - 10:00 P.M. EST. There are 2 speakers on the show, each doing a 1 hr. segment.

We would like to have national and local sponsors for the event. Sponsorship may include making a contribution to pay for the location of the symposium/event, printing materials, ads about the event in local and national newspapers, speaker's travel expenses, mailings, tee-shirts, wristbands, DVDs for the Faces of Mold project, paying for a booth at a community event, etc. You can be an anonymous sponsor as well.

4. FACES OF MOLD DVD: Indoor Toxic Mold State Rep Lori Tondini has sent me the following letter of intent for the FACES OF MOLD DVD- please get your before mold exposure and after mold exposure pictures to Lori. This is an exciting project!

LETTER OF INTENT FOR "FACES OF MOLD" DVD

I would like to put a dvd together, showing "faces" of mold victims. Hopefully, I can get it done in time for all the National Indoor Toxic Mold Awareness Month events, and have it playing in the background, before presentations or something...I think we talked about it before...what I need is info on your websites, asking mold victims to e-mail a photo, and condensed info, Such as: Susie, 42, lawyer, exposed at work, lungs/brain affected - something to that effect...photos should be Jpeg only, and sent to: facesofmold@gmail.com

Depending on amount of pics received, will try to include all who send me a picture...and hopefully, I will get enough to put it together!

Those who email pics to me will not be compensated in any way, and I will receive no monetary gain for preparing the dvd. No information or photo will be used for any other purpose other than what has been stipulated. The dvd will not be "sold" or dispersed to anyone other than those who wish to use it in conjunction with an educational and informative "mold event", to be played only to show that we are real, normal people from all walks of life, ...no different from anyone else.

Lori Tending, LT Productions

Greetings All

I am going to start posting personal stories about the impact that toxic mold has had on some peoples lives. Some of these stories may find their way into the lives of others who may have been sickened by mold. Some of you will find similarites between your lives and the lives of those telling these stories. I am certain that some who read these pages will find the common thread that unites us in our quest to find answers to our questions about why we are so ill. Why we have been diagnosed and treated for so many different types of illnesses but never seem to get any better. How so many of us have seen so many different Dr's but continue to get sicker.

Toxic mold is real. It is killing people all over the world and it is being ignored by most of those who are actually in a position to help. People are losing their jobs, their homes and most importantly, their health and the saddest part of all of this is that much of this suffering could be prevented.

It is my hope that through this forum, someone will find the knowledge that will keep them from getting ill. That others will find the hope and inspiration to get better and that all of us will find the compassion to help each other.

Here is the story of one lady who has been sickened from mold. I welcome all of you to tell us your story as well. The more we learn from each other, the better our lives will become.

Sincerely, Billdaddy

LAURA'S STORY
My name is Laura. I had a successful teaching career of ten years. Then one day I got the perfect job. It was in a highly successful public school district in the rural community of Pinckney, Michigan. Out in a country, lakes area where, for several years prior, I had spent many summer days with friends, at campfires, on the boats, outside at various events. I had wanted to one day retire out in this area. And so, here I was with my dream-job and at the young age of 32. After my first day at work, I got sick. I thought I had a cold or flu. No big deal for me. I had been a very health conscious, physically active, vegetarian since I was a young child. Any time I got a cold, it was gone within 3 days. I had missed an average of two days of work per year over the past twelve years. I knew how to take care of my body and it rewarded me in kind. And so I knew within 3 days I would be fit as a fiddle.

Not so. My "cold" never went away, it only worsened. To the point of losing my voice, having coughing fits that would seem uncontrollable, and spitting up gross mucus constantly. This was a major problem for a music teacher that needed her voice as part of her instruction. I had to quit teaching private lessons after school because I was suffering from incredible fatigue. I could barely make it through the school day with enough energy to drive myself home before I would collapse into bed and sleep 12 to 14 hours per night.

This was very bizarre for me, a woman that needed only six or seven hours of sleep per night and was incredibly active during my waking hours. For the past ten years, I had held three teaching jobs at one time. All these jobs had incredible amounts of responsibility: planning all-school curriculums, running band programs, missing breaks to teach extra classes, putting on twelve huge concert performances or more per year. In addition, I taught ten to fifteen private students per week. When I wasn't working, I was involved in extra curricular activities. I played in an orchestra that performed weekly. I was active in church and church ministries. I was an active "outdoors" person. Tennis, rollerskating, biking, swimming, walleyball, walking…anything that was active and involved people, involved me. It was unlike me to be tired.

A few times my "cold" would seem like it was going away. It always seemed to be when I had an extended school break. But when the school break was over and I returned to work, my cold symptoms also returned. I realized because of my past history without illness, the fact that my cold started the day that I started my new job, and because of these vacation patterns, that my health problem was definitely related to my job at the school. Something was very wrong.

Greetings All

Here is the story of a 16 year old boy who is clinging to life because of the negligence and / or because of a lack of knowledge about the dangers of toxic mold.

He was so fortunate in finding a Dr. who understood his illness before it was too late to help him. This was not the case for some 500,000 people in the U.S. last year. Please share this information with everyone you know. People really are dying from this terrible affliction and yet, so little is being done to prevent it from happening.

Sincerely, Billdaddy

When her son was diagnosed with mucormycosis, Suzi Yaeger did what many people would do and typed the unfamiliar word into an Internet search engine.

Daniel Yaeger, 16, is recovering from a potentially fatal lung disease, called mucormycosis, which is caused by exposure to mold.

Phrases including “high mortality rate,” “poor prognosis” and “often fatal” jumped off the computer screen.

Daniel Yaeger, 16, had contracted the very rare fungal infection from mold in the closet of a home the family leased until September, doctors found. He has been hospitalized since Oct. 28, hoping that doctors can get him well enough to perform an operation to remove his right lung, his mother said.

The infection is caused by fungi that gain access to the mucous membranes of the patient’s nose or lungs, rapidly multiply and invade nearby blood vessels. The fungi destroy soft tissue and bone, as well as the walls of blood vessels.

“It’s so rare that the doctors were in shock that he had it,” Suzi Yaeger said.

The doctors told the Yaegers that while the infection is rare, they have seen one other case in the last six months. Because the infection eats at tissue, a young girl had to have much of her face removed and is now blind, doctors told Yaeger.

Daniel’s mother and father, David, sister Claudia Ann, 19, and brother Matthew, 22, have been spending their days at UAB Medical Center, where he ended up after spending days at DCH Regional Medical Center and Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.

The American Christian Academy sophomore was originally diagnosed with pneumonia, after he had caught bronchitis from his mother who is a paraeducator for Special Education classes at Taylorville Primary School.

Antibiotics were only making him feel worse, so he was admitted to DCH on Oct. 28.

The family had paid a down payment for a home in Taylorville and was leasing from the owners until September. There were so many problems with the house, including leaks that they decided to find a home elsewhere. It wasn’t until they moved out that Suzi Yaeger noticed that a lot of her son’s T-shirts were covered in mold and that he had likely been wearing clothes exposed to the mold for months.

Daniel has diabetes and a weaker immune system than
