I was born and raised in New York City. I have many interests, from animals, to alternative medicine, eastern religions, to computer technology. I attended public school during my early years and then went on to the Bronx H.S. of Science. Although I have always had an affinity for animals and my dream was to become a Zoologist and live in Africa among the wild animals, for several reasons I wound up attending College graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science. For 12 years I worked as an applications programmer/analyst in four different companies in New York. I returned to college to pursue an MBA degree but within 6 months I knew it wasn’t what I wanted to do. Rather than spend money on a program I wasn’t interested in I took off to Greece for a month on my own and searched out my ethnic background, visited relatives I had never met, and toured many islands. I met many wonderful people and had a great time. The wonderful memories of that trip are still with me today after many years. Over the past 20 years I have also studied and engaged in reiki, alternative medicine, eastern philosophies, meditation, mind/body healing, and so in 1999 I decided to formalize my education and enrolled in a distance learning program with Clayton College for Natural Health for a Masters Degree. I also network with animal rescue groups and foster animals whenever I can and help find homes for the homeless animals. It has been both a sad and rewarding experience. After 9/11 I took a course with UAN(United Animal Nations) to become a certified Ears volunteer (emergency animal rescue). I have a casual petsitting business and if I had my way I would probably build a kennel on my property. I’ve been a sahm while my kids have been growing up and up until 4 years ago I had a few freelance programming jobs but I knew sooner or later I would have to find a full time job again with two teenagers enroute to college. Fortunately I was introduced to my current company, Cognigen, which opened up a whole new world for me. I’ve learned so much about people and business in the past 4-1/2 years and I really enjoy my work. It has given me a new perspective in many ways. I am also a National Trainer and ShopForT1 closer for Cognigen and I enjoy the people and all that is involved. It’s been a great experience for me all around. I’m sure I don’t want to return to Corporate America now, as becoming self employed has inspired me and shown me Corporate America a.k.a. the traditional 9 to 5 isn’t necessarily the ONLY way to go. I have a wonderful family, a son 16, a daughter 19, a husband, and two dogs. My son loves baseball and plays on 3 teams, plays basketball during the winter, my daughter takes ballet, pointe and jazz for 15 years now. My husband is an IT director for a large company. My dogs are permanent fosters and are living the good life. Do I sound like I’m all over the place? Oh well, what can I do? I enjoy everything that I do and want it all.
Have an awesome day !
