There's a whole new agenda for the SMP Network in 2005 and we want you to be a part of it!

If you understand (or want to understand) the value of strategic marketing planning and you want to connect with other intelligent individuals who do then this is your arena!

Our members are here to "give" and "receive" valuable information pertaining to the marketing process. We are open to external discussion of course - and we do encourage that you get to know one another on a "ties off" level too.

But, iIf you are seeking expert advise or feedback - ASK for IT, we've got it. If you wish to GIVE it - we want you to! Finally, if you want to make it better - let us know about it; take a poll, get others involved and send a PM to the network leader - if we don't know why it's broken - we WON'T fix it.

You are free to dress how you like here - but just to get the momentum going - we are proposing a varied dress code for the week (which is not strictly followed btw).

  1. Business Attire: Mon - Friday
  2. Casual Attire: Weekends (take the suits and ties of and get to know each other)

So, here are some hints on how to make this network WORK for you:

  1. Introduce yourself the moment after you join (and do it again if something changes with your work or your objectives)
  2. Initiate conversation; post questions, answers, thoughts, articles and anything you can that will promote activity from others.
  3. Respond to others; when someone joins, welcome them - when someone posts, give them feedback
  4. Be controversial (but considerate) - post stuff that challenges the intellect of others, get into their minds and get them thinking
  5. Promote the network to others; if you see value in this network - let others know. Share it with your database, link to it from your website, mention it on other networks, promote it when you blog with others - just help us get the word out there.
  6. Remember - the bigger our membership - the more opportunity you have to grow your personal database, promote your business and achieve your objectives.
  7. Ask others if you need something (advise, help or anything else) - you will be surprised at how others respond!
  8. Remember that we are all human beings! We are effected by emotion, we are loving and giving by nature and we all have lives outside of the office - if you have found something great about someone on the network - share that with the rest of us! Recognition is very motivation and goes a long way! *If you endorse others - they might do the same for you.
  9. Have FUN! Engage in humorous conversation if you wish - share a few marketing/office jokes if you have them; don't be afraid to be personable with your posts.

This is your playground and it's only going to be fun if you encourage others to play!
