Lesson 8 - How important is accurate spelling and grammar on Ryze?
The first thing that we need to consider here, is that Ryze is International and not everyone speaks English! Penalizing (or judging) members for their lack of English ability is just plain unfair. After all, can we speak or write their language as well as they can, ours?
Sometimes, if the person is not English-speaking, it can be very difficult to understand the gist of their post, but as members of an International environment, we should try.
Now there is a very big difference between the scenario quoted above and the member that IS English-speaking but couldn't be bothered to run a quick spell/grammar check before posting. This just shows disrespect for others and to be honest, does not promote the poster as a very good business person.
I think that the rule of thumb is that we should all attempt to create faultless communications in our Mother tongue. To do so, construct the message or post in your text editor (I use Word), and run a quick spell check (which should check grammar, too) - then copy and paste it into your Ryze message/post screen.
Remember what unspoken message you might be sending to prospective clients when you post.
Now, before you start being too critical of those who ARE English speaking and still make blunders, consider the number of Ryze members who are trying to earn a living, but are handicapped. Some people don't have hands to type and have to do so with their mouths - consider that they have the right to earn an income, too and try to be a little charitable towards them.
