Lesson 16 - Advertising on Ryze.....

If one reads the Ryze Terms of Service, one sees that advertising is not allowed - neither is MLM recruiting. This means that you may not post your web address or invite a fellow Ryzer to join your downline as part of the body of a Guest Book entry either as part of the message or in the signature.

Fair? Yes, I believe so because until you have built a relationship with that person, it is just plain rude to bombard them with that type of request.

When I first joined Ryze 3 years ago, the rules regarding advertising, were VERY clearly laid out and any infraction was cause for immediate suspension. Things have changed since then and I believe that I was a pioneer in that change, in that I allowed advertising on my network. You see, a network is a paid service and therefore it is up to the network leader to allow or disallow advertising.

On my network, advertising is only allowed on Sundays - on other networks, advertising is allowed on other days, but very few networks allow advertising at will.

Now some Ryzers get smart and they weave an advertisement into a network topic. Others will ask a question and in so doing, they GUIDE the conversation to their own service or product. I have even seen Ryze members post a 'great service/product' as though they were talking about someone else (a testimonial) but it leads to their own web site. This is known as 'veiled advertising' but it is STILL advertising!

I would suggest that you read the topics on a network for a couple of days, post some responses and build a relationship with members before you attempt to promote your business unless the network has a formal introduction method (on my network, new members are encourage to tell us about themselves by placing 'INT' in the subject line). In that post, you can tell us about your business and yourself in a conversational fashion.

Always check with the network leader first to see if advertising is allowed on that network - read the rules of the network and if in doubt, just send a request to the network leader via PM before making yourself unpopular.

Never lead with your product ~ always build the relationship first.

Happy networking! :)
