re: Still Spinning the Saddam/9-11 Connection |

I read an article by one reported who did a Lexus search to find information on Bush linking Saddam to 9/11 who was shocked to find no references at all. It seems that who ever tells Bush what to say designed his sentences very carefully, because he implied it all over the place, but he almost never said it. Yet we all remember what it was like at that time- anyone who expressed doubts about this claim (because it didn't add up) were attacked as being unpatriotic, even by some active members of this group. Bush was acting in a way that caused people (including me) to conclude that "he knows something we don't". Now, of course, we know that he was just lying but it is amazing that they pulled this propaganda campaign off so successfully. I think right-wing media had alot to do with it (Fox news, Clearchannel, etc) - they can get the right wing talking points out almost immediately and they are mindlessly parrotted on forums like this the very next day.

Anyone see "The Dark Side" about Cheney last night on PBS- explained alot! I also understand that new information is just coming out from the CIA about how Al Quaeda wanted Bush to win the last election, and may have timed some of their announcements to help him (and this may have worked!).
