X Y I echo Ankit's list of Do's and Don'ts.

Do:
1. Arambol, climb to the top of the hill and overlook down the stretch of sand and beaches, its exhilerating, peaceful, quiet and soul-searching. Beer helps in the process.
2. Massage on the beach. I like a massage the way its intended to me, squeeze my stress out. And that's exactly what you get on the beach for Rs.300. Don't expect them to be gentle, you will be feeling the effects even hours later!

Don'ts
1. Anjuna Flea Market is over-rated, waste of time.
2. Calungute/Baga are amongst the most packed beaches, problem is the crowd is not the polished kind. Last year thousands of construction workers from MP/Bihar/Orissa landed on these beaches and literally stood three inches from any woman in swimwear, staring, drooling, ogling...screaming, spitting, trashing, etc etc.
3. Beware of where you eat your fish. We visited a seafood restaurant called Flames (or something like that) on the Calungute-Baga road and ordered a magnificient platter of all types of seafood (cost Rs.2000). I ended up with rashes and had to take an allegra to stop scratching myself silly.
4. Titos is a bloody fake. We were there last year for New Years, and the music was SO bad I swear I wanted to maim the DJ. When the crowd got restless, the organizers used the oldest trick in the book, they got a whole bunch of Caucasian girls on to the stage and got them dancing vivaciously. Knowing the average Indian male's weakness for the fair skin, it worked like a charm and soon all the male crowd was happy. The girl crowd was left sulking.
At the time of selling tickets they told us we could redeem the ticket stub for drinks, but when we tried they politely declined and told us we were "mis-informed".
