This being a business network and all I wasn't sure if this topic would really be appropriate here although some of us still fit into the catagory of thinkers.
Feedback would be appreciated. My heart goes out to the people of the submerged city although after 40 years of warnings these people still wanted to live there.
The state did nothing, the city did nothing, and our government did nothing to protect the population from drowning from inevitable levee collapses. Now our already stressed taxes are going to waste billions of our hard earned money to rebuild New Orleans.
I live in a climate having survived blizzards and lousy weather all of my life. Why? Because I have enough sense to not live in a swamp. Sure the weather is great there, just like in Florida although I don't particularly think living in a hurricane zone two feet above sea level surrounded by oceans is all that healthy in the long run.
Why should I have to pay for it? Do the people in Florida or New Orleans send me aid when the ground freezes, my pipes break and I wreck my car sliding on the ice trying to go to work? They all laugh at us when it snows here.
World Betterment . . what do you think?
