Very interesting speculation, Adam. I actually never thought about dynamically-generated php pages not getting googled, perhaps because even thought I do run MT, I also have all my pages in php format, yet I certainly get googled...way too much, IMO. Perhaps pMachine and others like cafelog could be more useful to those people who do not wish to be spidered and indexed. I am not aware of anything being done right now to correct this issue, and you are right, the logistics of modifying existing search engines to spider dynamic pages are just too huge to contemplate. I would also wonder about the many many portal and news sites that are sprouting up that utilize phpNuke or PostNuke, and whether or not they have these issues as well. Will they perhaps start falling back on alternative programming means if they find that people are not able to search and find their sites? And bloggers as well? I can say honestly that at LEAST 60% of my daily hits (which are modest in any case at only 300-400 per day) come from Google, so if my pages weren't being indexed, I would have many less people finding me.
