Hi Danny, The easiest answer to your question on how to guide the right kind of traffic to your blog is also the hardest answer: good content. Good contect being a consistent picture of what drives you, what work you're passionate about and what new avenues you are exploring. A consistent web presence is important I think. But content won't generate traffice on it's own, it will do so only if people start referring to you. I find that external references do not directly lead to interesting promotional contacts or effects. That only happens when you start coming up in Google search results, which is directly influenced by the number of weblogs / websites referring to you. It is then that people start finding you that would not have found you otherwise. However the biggest promotional return you get by simply dropping your URL whenever appropiate. My impression is that by giving people my url in each contact I have with people, and telling them a little about what they can find in my blog, the biggest effect is reached. Some even thought it took a lot of trust on my part to give them insight into what drives me professionally by showing them my blog. A blog is the best kind of curriculum vitae you can provide as far as I'm concerned. Regards, Ton > danny sullivan wrote: > Hail bloggers! >
