Sanitary conditions are bound to worsen further in the Urban India, courtesy the bulging population and the ability of the human mind to tolerate increasing problems, as long as they are incremental in nature. The problem will only accentuate with the apparent good signs in the economy that will tell positively on the purchasing power of people. This is the typical Third-World phenomenon today.
Chennai cannot be an exception. We live in this city and we should be the CHANGE AGENTS to give a push to alter this scenario.
It is the educated lot, like ourselves, who have a great scope to make a commendable impact. We have to get on to the next step of planning to center-stage the issues, after identifying a few at least, to begin with. This requires getting up from chairs, moving out and meeting like-minded friends and plan things that can be easier to implement, to start with.
THE BIGGEST OBSTACLE IN TRANSLATING OUR IDEAS TO ACTION IS OUR INABILITY TO COMPROMISE WITH OUR OWN PERSONAL COMMITMENTS.
THE INTERNET IS A BANE AND A BOON. IT HELPS US SHARE OUR PROBLEMS. BUT IT WILL NOT DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTE TO MAKING SOCIAL CHANGE. WE, WE AND WE ALONE, AS INDIVIDUALS, CAN COME TOGETHER AND EFFECT THE CHANGE. THE CHANGE IS IN OUR MINDS.
