Unique Vocational Training Programme for Tsunami affected Youth |

Jaya Prakash Narayan Educational Trust with Youth Employment Summit (YES) Tamil Nadu Network have introduced an exclusive package in vocational training for the Tsunami affected youth. This is a six month course in either 2/4 Wheeler mechanics, Fridge/AC mechanics, DTP etc, where Life Skills, Work Skills and General English are also given to help them get jobs. Jayaprakash Narayan Community College, which is in 49, Trunk Road, Porur, Chennai 116. Ph: 24827962, 9444018636, takes care of the entire training and Youth Employment Summit (YES) Tamil Nadu Network will facilitate in getting them suitable placements in reputed Companies. The first batch of 20 Tsunami affected students from New Kalpakkam have started attending the training programme. They are being sponsored by the GE Elfun Club, Chennai. A formal inauguration will be held within the College premises on 18th June 2005, Saturday from 5 pm onwards. Interested Companies and institutions with Corporate and Social Responsibility are welcome to grace the occasion and see how best they can participate in this innovative concept of “Sponsor a livelihood” for the Tsunami affected youth and create another earning member in the family.
