There was one more case reported a few days back in this month (sept 2005) of a Engg College woman Professor being run down by a train (in Chennai) as she was walking /crossing on the track-busily engrossed in the cellphone -and not able to hear the shouts of onlookers
Cellphones need to be used at the right time and not when your attention should be on something else
Also there are warning signals installed in petrol pumps to avoid cellphones as electromagnetic interference can cause sparking at times which is dangerous Standard operating instructions on flights ask you to switch off cellphones before takeoff
However not clear if lightning (as reported below)is attracted to a switched on cellphone-first time hearing of this -maybe there is a scientific explanation? Private Reply to N K nayak (new win) |
